Why is it when a sub posts asking for advice she/he is immediately told to try and work things out even when she/he has clearly stated that this has been done.

because many feel the op is jumping to conclusions too soon and making a rather rash decision yet ignoring the fact she has already done what they suggest in the person's opening statement

quote:

He/She is then put through a series of questions by people responding to the post asking for more and more info

they want more juicy gossip ...they cannot accept the submissive's/slave's version until the dom in question posts his side of the story - blatant bias in pov as if to say "we cannot believe you unless your dom posts his version to the tale"

quote:

...But......When a Dom/Owner posts they usually get definitive answers based on their onesided posts

those who respond are too afraid to offer real opinions and merely "go with the flow" like everyone else who posted before them.  my .04cents and then some

Basically, I think that nonsensical, insecure posts looking for life and reltaionship advice get questioned and/or reamed, whether they are from a 'dom' or a sub.  It doesn't make sense to most people why someone would post questions about how they should handle a private, intimate mater, when only they are the ones with all the information and feelings to base that decision on.  How on earth can a bunch of strangers be more qualified to tell you how to live your life than you are?  Sure, maaaaaybe having close friends weigh in, but all this 'my dom is ignoring me, did I hurt his feelings, is he cheating on me, what should I do....?' just makes no sense.  These kinds of questions rarely come from d-types, but when they do, they are reamed too, even worse actually, because it doesn't show much self-mastery and confidence expected of a dominant.

Established dominants tend to ask questions that are more philosophical or technical with clean cut answers, or just inviting fun discussion.  Lots of the established submissives on here ask questions like that too.  It tends to be the newbie submissives who just haven't learned to trust themselves yet who post stuff that just doesn't really make sense.

That is just my observation and opinion.  Sorry for the rant.

Pretty good rant, and one that I'm inclined to agree with.

1.  With the advent of the internet and its relative anonymity, many people have ceased to have private lives.  Everything is fair game to be shared publicly on the 'net.

2.  Internet voyeurs convince themselves that their advice to these total strangers is actually of value.

3.  Advising folks to get off the computer and begin actually speaking and communicating with their partners is often not well received.  It's the cyber equivalent of calling for the cancellation of the Oprah Winfrey Show.

There is a submissive forum she could post on.

Thanks for all the great responses ......I have to agree about the one statement regarding how people attack the OP or even eachother.....in the forums...*thanks God for her good debate tactics* Actually last night on another forum this was proven true...in my opinion if your going to take the time to post a reply to someone you should at least read the original OP...not the last comment placed..
**Sambamanslilgirl** I couldnt have said it better myself *smiles*
