torro -> Exploring the dom/sub lifestyle in Los Angeles (11/4/2007 9:34:55 AM)

This is my first post here, although I've been reading the site for a while. I think online forums, websites, etc are great for learning about all of this, but I'm not really into looking for relationships online. That said, I have been a long-time closet submissive and would like to explore this in real life, but I have no idea how to begin.

I live in Los Angeles -- you would think there would be plenty of access to this type of "scene" -- maybe its just a problem of knowing where to start. I've been to Miss Kitty's Parlour a couple times (for those not in LA, this is a fetish night at a local club), but that seems to be more about people dressing up exotically as opposed to somewhere for people to really explore the dom/sub lifestyle.

Any recommendations for places to go in LA or other ways I can explore this?

Depends greatly on how you want to go about meeting people and whether or not you have an age preference (geared more for the Gen-X crowd). There are any number of venues in the greater LA area that are devoted to BDSM, serious lifestylers as well as the "fetish club" scene. You may want to try

Have fun and happy explorations...

i'd recommend going to the LA Social http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LA_Social/?yguid=307446860

It's a great environment, good people, drinks and Karaoke... the women who run the show are very open and friendly and made me feel as at home as was possible for a timid wallflower like myself (ok, so i hammed it up on the mic; but otherwise i was as pathetic and jumpy as an abused chihuahua)... there's no pressure and plenty of people to meet, i even met Ma'am there my first time out and we've been together over a year now (definitely not the normal way things go, but people were very kind and friendly to me)

also on their Yahoo page, there will be many there to point the way if a bar isn't what you're looking for
