There is no place to have a 'safe' discussion on anything... because then it isn't really a discussion or debate, it is simply a safe conversation where everyone agrees and pats each other on the back.

There are so many denominations and religons you would just end up getting everyone wanting a piece of the action with their own section, and I don't subscribe to seperating everyone into neat little boxes, because that just narrows the responses into what you want to hear, and that isn;t always what you need or should be hearing.

For an example, blood or cutting as a play.  If you are a JW, you would be totally against such a practise.  How does that assist a evangelical?  Or a Taoist?  The whole information could get seriously fucked up unless you start listing on profiles religous beliefs - yet more work for the mods on the site and more labels and more seperation.

I believe it's just laziness if people want everything done for them already.  Truth is, it already is all done - there are yahoo groups all over.

I dont have a lot of time this morning to put together a coherent response to this but I wanted to at least reply.  I agree with you.  The practice of balkinization is what I think your refering to.  I do think however, that there is a fine line between complete and total seperateness, which people fear leads to homoginization, and coming together on common ground for the purpose of support.  The effect I was seeking was more similar to the concept that 12 step groups are founded on, the concept that others who have been where you are, can offer the best insight, support, and education.  Its just not the same when someone doesn't have personal experience on a subject.  They can offer information, sympathy, etc, but not empathy.   My question about starting a seperate board was about that.  It would offer people that place to congregate.  Would it stop the hijackers and hecklers?  No.  But a society does not cease to have gay bars simply because non gay people show up and spout rhetoric from time to time.  But in the context of a gay bar, the gay people there understand that the majority of the others there are there for the same or similar purpose.
thank you for taking the time to listen,
octavia

One of the bigest reasons people are out spoken about  it conflicts with their way of life deep down they know its wrong and do it any way.. Have you ever noticed that when your doing things in christ all things are easier in a great way. I have seen things I can not explain. nor could science.  I do know when i am on that spiritual path. THings rock.  everything does love life everything. Everyone that is mean and nasty seem to fall away strange as that sounds. I am not perfect but  I do know god is.  I am not here to preach and  Just so you know  ds is through out the whole bible from a submissive point of view it is like the best hand book to have.  Some should try reading it. Some walk around with Blinders that all they see is a selfish reflections of what they want or think they need.  In simple terms no one is perfect. But striving to live a good life should be everyones agenda ..
