Colonic irrigation (CI) is a procedure in which very large quantities of liquids are infused into the colon via the rectum through a tube, a few pints at a time., in an effort to wash away and remove its contents. CI differs from an ordinary enema which involves infusing a lesser amount of liquid into the rectum only. A "high colonic" may involve the use of twenty or more gallons pumped by a machine or transmitted with an apparatus that relies upon gravity to achieve its purpose. Liquids used in colonics may include coffee, herbs, enzymes, wheatgrass extract, or many other substances.

Just remember, anything you put in there in large quantities will also be taken up in high quantities. Including water, phosphate, alcohol. Like everything else, moderation is good.

If you put too much water in there ('cuz remember the colon is a specialist in absorbing fluid, electrolytes, and small molecules) you can get water intoxicated. Speaking of small molecules, if you put even a tiny amount of alcohol in there, you are going to get extra drunk extra fast. Heaven forbid you get the bright idea of doing a bunch of fleets in a row.

That said, I know a lot of old doctors who believe in the 'Triple H' enema: High, Hot, and a Helluva lot. (eeew.) The hot shouldn't be more than a degree or two above body temp. The high refers to the height at which you hang the bag (the higher the bag, the more pressure that pushes the liquid in.)

Though for truly 'cleaning out' people, and this is from some one who has had to manually disimpact waaaay too many nursing home patients, nothing beats soap suds.

This is copied from my public blog in it's entirety for your edification and enjoyment.

A bit of fun...... with the colon.

Sometimes giving in to my OCD side leads to some interesting adventures.   While leafing through the Loaf a while back I saw an advert for a colon hydrotherapy place down on Roswell road.  I looked them up and they had a half off coupon.   I just couldn't resist.  It sounded like it would be a unique experience.

I know, you're saying "Why don't you just experiment with Drugs!"  Anyone can experiment with drugs, it takes a certain well developed sense of adventure to go the colonics route.

I call them up and make an appointment and ask if I need to do anything special for the session.  They informed me that I should drink lots of water before hand and that was is.   The first session would take a couple of hours due to paperwork and them spending time explaining all the apparati...

I was expecting something similar to a deep colon enema (sometimes called colema) using a long closed end colon tube.   Basically unlike your standard red bag, tube and nozel enema they use a 20-30inch long tube that snakes high up into you colon and flushes you from the top down.

The facility I went to uses something I'd only read a little about, ie..  a closed system.  It works like this:

You get undressed and put on a hospital gown with the opening in the back.   They say you can leave your shirt on if you wish, but what's the point.  I would have done the whole thing nude if they'd been comfortable with it as I would rather be nude than wear one of those damned gowns.

Well, to be honest, I'm a life-style nudist and would rather be nude than wear *anything* else.   But I digress.

The young lady administering my cleansing that day asked me to get up on the table and lie on my left side.  She then showed me the speculum they use.  Unlike a vaginal speculum (you know, the metal duck bill looking thing that makes most women cringe the way two bricks make men cringe)   this speculum is a 1 to 1.25 inch diameter, 7 inch long plastic tube with a poitn to attach the small inflow tube and ridges to hold he outflow tube in place.    The tube starts out with a bulbous plunger sticking out the front to give it a smooth, bulbous end.  All the better to slide deep into your nether regions my dear.

You might ask, inflow and outflow, what?   Patience, I'm getting there.

She puts some KY on the tube and a drop at the entrace to my anus and then places the blunt end of the tube against me.   She instructs me to reach back and take the tube then slide it slowly into my anus.   I think she was suprised that I didn't fumble, but readjusted my grip, angled it slightly better and slid it home.   Why I can do this without really thinking about it is something you'll have to watch the Sex filter for.

Anyway, back to my anus.   With the speculum firmly in place deep in my colon, she pulls the plunger out, leaving in place the 1 inch tube.  She attaches the thin inflow tube to the top of the speculum and then attaches the much larger 1.5 inch tube to the back of the speculum for outflow.

After turning over onto my back, I put my knees up and my feet flat on the bed so she has access to my backside as needed.   She adjusts the speculum, checks the connections and then turns on the water.   AT this point I begin to feel the pressure building up but it never really reaches anything uncomfortable.  I don't even feel the need to purge as I do with the first few minutes of a normal enema.

This is because the water is flowing into my colon, up into the first part of my lower intestine an then right back out again.  This is to get as much of the gas in my lower instine out as possible since most cramping in this kind of procedure is from gas, not fecal matter or water.

This takes about 15 minutes and is pleasant and relaxing.  I feel things gurgling and moving around, which is kind of neat.    Then comes the fun.  She turns the water off and closes the valve on the outflow tube. At this point she tells me to inform her if I feel any pain and to let her know when I the feeling to purge is very strong.   It will start out pretty strong, but try to wait through it so that the water can fill more of my colon and intestine.

She turns on the water and I feel it immediately start to fill up my colon.  The urge to purge is very strong but I clamp down, consciously relaxing my muscles and letting the feeling wash over me, much as I do with a normal enema.    After a few seconds the urge passes and I feel the water moving up into my body.

I get some cramping from gas pockets but that passes quickly.   After about 20 seconds, she releases the valve on the outflow tube and I'm surprised at the force with which my body expels the water and waste. The sense of relief and almost euphoria is close to that of a good orgasm, just not as high on the intensity scale.   It's a passive release rather than an active ejaculation.

We do this 3 more times, each time holding the water a bit longer.  She congratulates me on my ability to do so and says that usually people are on their 4th or 5th session before they reach that level.    I told her I'm fairly experienced giving myself enemas (hey, I"ve eaten a lot of cheese over the years and my body is extremely sensitive to laxatives. ) and this was only slightly different.

She turns the water pressure down and tells me it's goign to just trickle in and through, then proceeds to massage my absomen looking for stuck fecal matter, gas pockets and just generally making my intestines do their job.

We hit a gas pocket or two that causes some severe pain so we backs off and we do the fill and flush thing a couple more times and I feel them go away.

So far we've been at this about 45 minutes and it's time to do the final round.    She does 3 more filll and flushes with abdominal massage with one hand and the other on the outflow valve.    At the end of this, she tells me to gently turn over onto my back, take a deep breath and let it out as she's pulling the speculum from my anus.    She tells me to go quickly to the toilet (each room has a private toilet) and allow my body to do what it wants to do.

There was a stool there to put my feet up on so taht my knees were at about chest level.   Anyone who's gone hiking knows that the squat is one of the best positions, assuming your knees can handle it, to have a bowel movement.  It shortens and straigthens the bowel and colon, and allows your weight to help bear down and push.

I had a very very satisfying, if a bit noisy, time on the toilet.  MOst of what came out was moderately clear water with just bits of fecal matter left over from the flushes and that had built up around the speculum.

This took about 10 minutes in all and after cleaning up (they had baby wipes, yay!)  and getting dressed I went out for the post seession consultation.  They wanted me to take fiber, magnesium and something to help rebalance the PH levels in my colon.   She was quite concerned when I told her that I drink a couple of pots of coffee a day.  She said "two cups isn't that much'.  I corrected her and saw her eyes get reallllly big for a moment.

All in all, this was a fun, educational and mostly unique (at least among my friends, unless you're all holding out on me!) experience.  Will I do it again?  Probably.  Will I be one of these people who goes once or twice a week?  No.  I don't think that is very healthy as it affects the intestinal flora in adverse ways.

So with a tip of my glass of fiberous type drink and a wiggle of a fresh and clean tushy, I bid you good day folks.

PS: Those who don't like to use the port-a-potties or privys for BMs might think about doing this the day before festival.   It took 2.5 days before I had another bowel movement. :)

The last sentence is what applies to this discussion.  My lower colon was clean and empty for over 2 days after my session.  Anal sex at that point would have been no problem and no worries about cleanup afterwards.    I will recommend LOTS and LOTS of lube as most of the mucus that lines the colon and acts somewhat as a lube has been washed away, at least temporarily.

I've heard the "Triple H" expression used too, but I always thought the "High" portion meant how high up into the intestines they shot the hot water.  Either way, they're both effective!
