This faux green movement is making billions for giant corporations.

Thanks for sharing.  It's disappointing, since in addition to having good products, part of the pleasure was knowing I was supporting an independent company not owned by one of the big guys.

If they sold for over 900 million, they obviously weren't the "little company" that you (and so many others) were led to believe

The thing I find funny is all the whining and the sense of betrayal felt by the lefty consumers even thought Bert's Bees has been selling in Wal-Mart for years.  Business and business corporations are created to make MONEY.

One thing I did notice this year was that you were starting to see generic bee's wax products similar to BB's for half the price. Without the patent protections, the brand could only grow so without a much bigger advertisement push that only a P&G or Clorox could provide . It seems to be a sound business decision for both parties.

 Who ever said liberals were against making money?

There are tens of thousands of liberal/progress businesses that do quite well.

Google,Novartis,SmallDog Electronics,and progressive companies like them, inspire loyalty and give back the the community on many levels.

Liberalism and capitalism aren`t mutually exclusive.

It`s the companies that take advantage of ,and cheat the system,that are the problem.

It`s the Enrons,and businesses headquartered in the Cayman Islands,and the companies that pollute and raid pension funds,that give capitalism a bad name.

Ive been buying the berts products for years. They have always worked better than the other brands. I guess ill have to stock up before it gets changed.
