Highlights from the panel discussion.

"Do people who voted to open up trade with China bear responsibility for the Lead Poisoned Toys?"

Blitzer: You're the only one on stage who voted against the PATRIOT act.

Kucinich: "That's because I read it"

Yeah. Proof of the system being just a show is that Ron Paul and Denis Kucinich aren't going to run together and sweep into the White House.

Call it the "Fuck the Party Party"

Kucinich sounds like a European social democrat so he's no chance of making the Whitehouse, the right will give him a bullet first.

I always assumed worker's rights would be enshrined in NAFTA like it is in the European Union (though Britain has negotiated opt outs being more capitalist than other countries.). If they aren't this would be a valid reason for cross border worker disgruntlement. The costs would still be cheaper fort Mexico and it wouldn't get rid of unemployment, labour transfer, the transfer of capital and outsourcing which are all an essential part of any free trade area.

I guess as a European it could be better for us if NAFTA failed. Canada and Mexico would look elsewhere for tariff free trade.

I like his thinking. The media pretty much writes him off.  If others suddenely start taking his positions- who could beleive it?

That is why I support Dennis Kucinich, he was the only one that read the Patriot Act... the choice for president is so clear to me, but people go with the entire bandwagon way of voting.

Yeah, being able to read is an important qualifier...

/me nods.
