Unless someone has found a way to use make my monitor into a laser, it is hard to draw blood. Why do we need moderators? (Yeah, Mod3 and Mod4, I know you do something, but if it is not stopping malicious code, does it stop the internet version of blood letting?)

Just a conversation starter from someone who believes the first and best defender of myself is myself, not the cops who will be there soon.

Well, I for one like the access online to help when this computer mental moron gets her dominant self frustrated. As to the flaming, well I don't mind a good verbal scrap now and then, and feel confident I can hold my own. The only concern I have is the under 18's and illegal play (very rare) adverts that I have seen try to post here. But those I past on to the admin., which of course has been a while ago. Otherwise I have great power over this computer, it is called the OFF button. Laughing, if I don't like what someone has written to me there is the block button. Even with my limited skills I have the ability to CMB, or the ever available, ignore. Stay safe, Sundew

There are also 2 other factors. One is that people do and have posted things that are illegal and could cause the site to be closed. Also, the whiners could try to get the site closed down if the modersators didn't keep the stuff to show why things are pulled etc.

Plus, this forum is suppose to be one where people can chat with others, and possibly even learn something. As it is, less than 2% (probably less than 1) have ever posted, but there have been over 300 reading this at one time, if the boards were allowed to be overrun by those who don't *debate* but rather just name call, or through fits, it would scare them away from even reading. And eventually the board would be just one more slugfest war where nothing of any value is ever said.

Oh we've got to have them because we just aren't always good at "policing" ourselves. So there are those of us who standby and "maintain" when we don't. So rather than resent their presence we should actually be grateful for it.

Then of course there are those who want to slide in and spray paint some graffiti on the walls. The Mods have to clean that up. They break up those disagreements that could potentially get ugly, before they do (most times). Which results in those involved not becoming enemies. lol Which is a good thing.

So when you say "No blood, No foul" think about how come. Hmmm...because we have some pretty awesome Mods here. We don't see half of what goes on behind the scenes. Lucky us!!!

Lady Beckett,

"No blood, no foul" is actually an old pick up basketball term. With no refs players call their own fouls. This invariable leads to the guy who cries foul at almost everything. Without a definite nuetral prescence to decide if the foul was real or "all ball" the generally accepted principle is no harm, no foul. Make the shot, it didn't matter. If the defender tried to block the shot and claims he only hit the ball and the offensive player screams, "That was my hand" Then unless he came down holding his hand, no harm, no foul. The term is for a message board/ basket ball game with the lack of moderators/referees

Sandy,

Good point. So are we a valuable resource for collarme?

You "old guard" board members have created the culture of the board (courteous chaos?), and you provide stability and continuity. Priceless. And I'll bet the owners of collarme realize that.
