I see  Married People on here dom subs dommes a lot of open marraiges. for me It just means drama in waiting. How do you feel about people who are lin the lifestyle who want to play out side of marraige and is it kinda of a lie to what they have  shrugs

phedre81 -> RE: WOW totally confuzzled (11/20/2007 7:31:52 PM)

I personally wouldn't play with someone who was married without their spouse's full knowledge.  But I'm sure there are those for whom it isn't a problem, and honestly, I get it...I mean, I've tried for years to ignore this...aspect of myself, with no success.  If someone finds themselves married, and still desires to engage in BDSM, though their partner is opposed to it...meh, it's not for me, but I understand not being able to set aside this part of yourself.

KatyLied -> RE: WOW totally confuzzled (11/20/2007 7:32:18 PM)

It's not a lie if they are in an open relationship.  I mean for real, not just saying they are.  If not, then yeah, it's pretty, what's the word I'm looking for ... dishonest.

akisha -> RE: WOW totally confuzzled (11/20/2007 7:32:25 PM)

I dunno, friends of mine have been doing it successfully for 17 years. Seems to work rather well for alot of people and not so well for others.

kyraofMists -> RE: WOW totally confuzzled (11/20/2007 7:32:31 PM)

I for one feel very blessed that he and Alandra desire to include me in their life and as part of their family even though they are married.  Drama would be one of the last adjectives that people who know us would use as a descriptor.

I'd play with a married man or woman if his wife or her husband was ok with it.  If they either didn't know or didn't approve, I would steer clear of that person.

I think it is none of my business unless it effects me personally. I do not consider it cheating if it is an open marriage, hence the term 'open'.

On the side of face to face; I could give a flying fuck what others do with their lives as long as they leave me out of it.

On the other side though, if they come to me for advice, then I am going to be honest about how I really feel about it.

I don't have any use for a person who cheats and lies. They are pretty worthless to me and not worth the time it takes to even listen to the excuses that they may sprout off.

On the other hand, if someone is in a relationship and they go outside that relationship; and I KNOW for a fact that ALL parties are being honest and upfront about it; that's their business. If it floats their boat and makes them happy; then more power to them.

You know Latex...that chip on your shoulder is really starting to turn you into a fuddy.

akisha -> RE: WOW totally confuzzled (11/20/2007 7:35:53 PM)

The trick of sucess from what i've seen is to have a good relationship with the couple, not just half of the couple. When you try to exclude one is when you will get problems and drama.

I tell ya though, first time a gf tells you she thinks you'd be perfect for her husband you really don't know what to say at first hehe  But it turned out great *weg*

I think it sounds FUN.

So if what you say forsake others is just meaningless in a marriage vow so taking a collar has that same meaning where do you draw the line

I do my best NOT to draw the line for other people.

I feel that they are people in open marriages who want to play with others.

Valyraen and I are in a committed relationship looking to marriage and I play with others fairly often. There isn't any drama because everyone is completely upfront and honest about the situation. One of the people I play with is a married man whose wife not only knows, but has helped set out the toys. Valyraen frequently watches and is amused by my reactions to things. I don't see that changing once he slips a ring on my finger.

There aren't any lies in what we do.

MrSpectacular -> RE: WOW totally confuzzled (11/20/2007 7:45:20 PM)

I don't worry about it - it is not for me to judge others. If a married man or women wants to play an away game - that is there business not mine and so are the consequences.

Not everyone includes those vows as part of their marriage ceremony.

You do realize that those wedding vows are not written in stone right? You don't have to say that to get married. You can make your own now. It's really nifty, I can even promise to obey while Valyraen promises to command.

Geesh you are starting to sound like a reticent child who is not getting what he wants.

Do you honestly think that you are so special that just because you don't like sharing that others are just going to fall right in with your wishes?

I think you need help...anything that comes out of your mouth lately is just garbled emotional shit. It's a shame too because you used to be quite level headed and coherent when it came to discussions.

I think they can do what they please, and you can whine about it?

And that's about it?

akisha -> RE: WOW totally confuzzled (11/20/2007 7:50:26 PM)

Like kyra said, it's not always part of the vows these days. Heck, obey wasn't in the vows of my wedding.

And people are writing thier own vows and having them say what is important to them, the views of others no longer rules in this day and age.
