So I'm on the bus for a short trip. An elderly lady with a walker slowy walks up the steps where she looks for a seat. She had difficulty walking and standing seemed to be something of great effort. Unfortantly, all the seats where taken. To my dismey, none of the men on the bus stood up to offer there seat. Not one man was curtious enough nor had the manners to allow this old lady to sit down and rest. I was in such disbelief that I just sat there in shock.

*slap, lol.

This is too true, though. Relatively, Japan is very polite (though the sincerity is questionable), but whenever I go back, I notice more rude behavior from people, especially teens - shoving on the escalator, talking loudly on the phone in the trains, etc.

People suck ass.

Love,
GM

You know, it is not that I necessarily expect men to hold the door open for me. But it pisses me off like hell when I open the door for MYSELF, and a man shoves in ahead of me. It ought to be legal to kick him in the ass, at that point.

it's true that society is getting ruder.  i was lucky enough to find a trainer who is a true gentlemen, He never lets me open a door when we are out together.  i think one time i even got a dirty look from Him when i opened the door myself and once when He and i took my daughter to a department store and He opened the door, my daughter being a smart ass took the door and waited for Him to go through, He went to the other door and went through!!! i felt like i was with a couple of kids as i waited for them to get over themselves and walk through the freaking doors!!

Hmmm, FangsNFeet sits there in shock as the little old lady still stood with out a seat!!!!

In the same vein as Nyrisa's statement, can we ad an adendum to that law for... dressing down Fet-people who think that if you open a door for someone, you're automatically a submisive, and bitchslapping women who take the opportunity of you openng a door for them to deliver a greer-esque diatribe on the equality of women in the modern day?
