Noah, I think the difference is, that the effects of knife play and electrical play can be monitored and (hopefully!) controlled while it is going on, then the toys are put away and life goes on. But the effects of aspirin last for a couple of days, and the person who bruised so beautifully during a flogging, or bled so artistically during a light cutting scene, will also hemorrhage spectacularly if they have car accident and injury on the way home. Car accidents are not rare, neither is slipping on the steps, or tripping over one of the kids' toys, etc. A person who has impaired clotting function can be seriously injured in these instances. A pleasant bit of play yesterday should not contribute to increased vulnerability today, to my way of thinking.
