Hi onceburned,
Nice to hear your a fellow neighbor!
Those 2 black cats have been there for months now in the same cages(I like to check up on the place)! But when they want $70 for a cat, it's understandable! The last time I was in there was about a month ago when I was too early for pool league and was killing some time. It was about 6pm, so maybe the cages get worse by the end of the day...and the owner wasnt around, maybe that's why they were so bad.

I think I will call the BBB if I see it like that again though...heart breaking for me.

I have a soft spot for strays of any type, as well. Consider local no-kill shelters. They promise not to destroy animals that are brought to them.

Yes, and sometimes they find too they have too many animals. Our local humane society is practically begging people to adopt a cat, with comments such as 'We are overflowing with animals, please help offer one or two a lifetime, loving, indoor home. 2 cats really are not much more work then one"

So everyone, consider visiting your local no-kill animal shelter.

yes, there is indeed a kitty network. Our house is the center of our neighborhood's branch of the network. One little secret: Don't ever let your pets hear you say anything along the lines of "Okay, that's IT! I can't possibly take another animal in. It's someone else's turn!" Your traitorous cats think it's a huge joke to pass along this message to the kitty network, just to see your face when a new stray is sitting on your front porch the next morning. Doubly hilarious if the new cat needs hundreds of dollars in medical treatment.
Oh, but sometimes...sometimes you get to pay the little buggers back Sometimes the new stray is not a cat, but a kitten. Then you get to see the looks on THEIR faces when they're suddenly confronted with a new, tiny bundle of tail-biting energy. Oh noooo they don't like that at all! They know they're not going to get a peaceful, lazy nap for the next 6 months or so without getting attacked by the hyper, flying, super ninjakitty.
Mandalin, my new kitten is slightly younger than yours. We got him at about 3 weeks old abandoned in the middle of a busy road. He was only about 7 ounces then. Now he's a little piglet at 1 lb 6 oz and STILL cries for a bottle though he was supposedly weaned a couple of weeks ago *sigh* spoiled little thing.
I'm attaching a pic of him from about 3 weeks ago (look how tiny he is next to that dollar bill! lol) and a pic of some other cats commandeering my side of the bed. If you look closely, you can count 3 just in that one pic. Why is it always MY side of the bed?

Clover, when I was single I bought a queen size bed to accomodate me and my babies. Unfortunately they STILL like my side of the bed! LOL

Oh Clover..your post is hilarious because it's so true! You should have seen the looks on my big boy's faces when the new little one sprang inside the door that night! She been all over them since, chasing them into walls, outside the kitty door, and up trees! She just now stepped on my keyboard and has done something BAD! I keep getting this box saying "close program now or click retry" hmmmm, havent got a clue what to do with it either! Tried everything and it's not responding....
My bottle baby is now around 15lbs(very spoiled) and sleeps on my pillow, and is always pushing my head off, even though he has his own pillow, and our bed is a king.
Got to love them!!!!!
Your kitten and cats are just beautiful!
