If a Master decides to "leave" the lifestyle for a while, but has friends still in the lifestyle should he give up his friends, and not go to bdsm stores and be in bdsm chatrooms and sites?
This is a question that effects someone very close to me and i am in a quandry as i am one of the friends he would no longer see. He split up with s submissive and gave it all up r/t with her . She seems to think that if he has given up r/t with her he shouldnt be in any way keeping lifestyle contacts.
Please let me know what you think, as this is one i cant really comment on as i am totally biased lol

IMO..it is his life and he can do as he pleases, if he chooses to keep BDSM life friends, then so be it..You friend who was released by him on the excuse that he the Dominant wishes to leave the "lifestyle" for a while ,has no say in this..She needs to go on with her life and quit focusing on what her former Dominant does with his....Tempting

Again ty for your postings.
Domiguy if i mistook your humour then i am sorry that i took you seriously lol please say next time lol .
You have all made valid points and
Vanatru i will talk to him and find out what he is planning (I hope) lol. LuckyAlbatross stable partners not a stable of partners is soooo true.
DiurnalVampire ty it is a mind game when all is said and done and i know where you are coming from with that especially with Xs.
Aquaticsub you have a point friends are friends whatever your choices in life.
angelikaJ i think he knows that it is bull and was not going to dump his friends . He was just suprised that it had been said.
I have broken up with Masters many times over the years and we still are friends even though i havnt always been able to be in the lifestyle. friends are from the heart .
Keep  posting and ty for all you viewpoints theyare helping a lot.

cyberchicdoll, you may not be aware, but Domiguy often says things tongue-in-cheek.

Thanks for the clarification. For her to say that is simply sour grapes and I doubt will mean much to him. I've been in that place before: desiring a break from the lifestyle after a bad relationship. That he should give up his friends is laughable, and I doubt very much that he echoed her sentiments.

Edit: talk with HIM about it. I'm sure he'll have a lot better idea of what HE plans than she does. *grin*

To the OP:  (sorry Vanatru I quoted the wrong post, the comments are not directed at you)

How could you possibly think his comments were serious?  Come on...applebees vs chilis?  Not ever being able to say any word that rhymes with your ex's name?   He's being facietious because the suggestion that an ex can tell someone who they can be friends with or that there's some rule that you have to be in the lifestyle to have lifestyle friends is just silly.  A comment by someone you are breaking up with is somewhat of a no-brainer to ignore for most people.

Friends are friends. So what if they're all into underwater basketweaving...and he's decided he doesn't like making baskets in the pool?
