Successful?  Yes - but I don;t define success in the quantity of money or possessions but the quality of life.

Successfull with friends, socially, good support network, stability with a hint of madness.  Yes - then success is necessary.
But money and the whole possessions or material worth means nothing in relationships.

Being financially well off has never been important to me, but i will admit to being a bit selective when it comes to intellect.  A well read, articulate, educated Dom is insanely attractive to me, so i guess we all have markers that indicate "success".  It does make me wonder, if perhaps by making the IQ such a big deal, i am not any different from those that make arbitrary things such as income influence their judgement, as to a Dom's ability to be masterful.

I am interested to find out whether sub's and slaves are generally more interested in having a relationship with a Dom/Master if he is successfull in vanilla life both financially and or carreer wise?

Or do the poor smoes out there who earn a modest wage and do a job which pays the bills have just as much chance as their much more fortunate "brothers"?

How about it ladies?

Seems to me that your projecting your idea of success onto potentials. For a lot of women, success IS having a job, paying the bills and doing it in such a way as to have time for their families, including leather ones. Don't be so harsh to judge yourself.

I would not be attracted to someone who considered himself a "poor smoe."  Self-pity and self-deprecation are huge turn-offs to me, in man or woman.

As to the "more fortunate brothers" -- almost without exception the successful men I know did not get where they are today by being fortunate or being born into a certain family.  They got there by being single-minded in what they wanted to achieve and delaying gratification until they accomplished what they set out to do -- some from very humble beginnings.

I am more concerned with someones ability to have a stable life and be responsible. Job and income are not as important as being responsible enough to pay their own bills. If they can't be in control of their own life how can they be in control of someone else? Yes everyone has a rough time now and then but I am more concerned with chronic debt and other problems.

I echo this.

I have know successful doctors having to file for bankruptcy and retired civil servants retiring early not owing a penny to anyone with owning two houses outright and an RV to travel the country.

This question is not about D/s and is just about normal relationships. There are going to be women who are too attracted to money and the lifestyle they envision with it. Just as there are men who will make looks the main desire in lieu of anything else.

But let’s have some truth serum here. All things being fairly equal the doctor is getting first dibs and the fry cook is in back of the line. The supermodel is getting far more options then an obese woman.

The problem is we want all the people that are similar to us to be bad. On the other side so many men shoot themselves in the foot by trying to convince themselves and the women they write that only they are experienced, safe and real. We want that cute doctor to be morally bankrupt or the supermodel to be a brain dead bimbo. The truth is all pluses and minuses of human characteristics cover the rainbow of people.

I think for most women financial security, which by the way if you read the posts from women on here clearly does not mean rich, is a big deal. There is just getting by and then there is getting by and planning and/or being prepared for bad things and the future in general.
