i have had far worse marks left after a heavy session. Fair skinned people do seem to bruise, welt and otherwise mark quite easily. Some like to be left with reminders ~grin~ There is no set how much is too much, unless it were to end it death or permanent maiming. As far as how long such marks can last, the marks i saw on the picture appear to be fairly light, and should fade rather quickly. The longest i have had marks left after playing was about 4 weeks.
i would suggest talking to anyone you were considering playing with, and find out what they consider to be too much. It goes without saying (or at least it does in my own mind) that it isn't just about what they are comfortable with, but also with how much you are comfortable with inflicting.
