To anyone that knows.
What exactly is fast food. ?
Just Pizza or Hamburgers bought cooked   or does it include say supermarket pies that only have to warmed in the oven ?

Regarding excercise  it will help lose weight  if you do a lot of it.
Most people wont do anywhere near enough.

Vendeval,
Please forgive me because i'm about to hi-jack Your thread...................................  i am probably one of the least judgmental people i've met... (i mean that sincerely and humbly)....HOWEVER...Yesterday i apparently lost my mind (unemployment will do that i hear) and watched Oprah.... i must admit i felt the women and men that went on there were couragous...Some of them weighed a minimum of 500 pounds and most of them looked great....However, as i sat there listening to their stories of how they gained all the weight and what they did to lose the weight i found myself getting resentful.....There was this sick part of me that wanted to stand up and yell at the tv and say, "Listen wench!! You ate a 3 tier cake...by Yourself!!!"..........i have no idea why i'm obsessing about this except that ( like most things) i just don't think it's fair.... i don't think the amount i weigh in correlation to the amount i eat is fair at all..... i recently moved in with my best friend. She's a midwife. She's been encouraging me for the last three years to get the gastric bypass surgery....After a month of living together she looked at me in the hallway the other night and said, "Ya know.........i think i was wrong....i don't think the surgery would work for You...You just don't eat enough for it to make that big of a change for you."
WTF is up with this crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, i vented...Back to Your regularly scheduled thread.

Sorry,
Kali

Hiya Popeye,

Nope, I just read the stuff somewhere long ago and it makes perfect sense.

Kali,

Go back and read what I wrote again, please.  It's not voodoo; you don't eat enough, so your body goes into distress.  It worries that it doesn't have enough calories, and so it starts cannibilizing areas that are less important (and the body 'thinks' that muscle is less important, and fat is most important.)  In fact, because fat is what keeps your body warm when you're cold, fat is one of the last things to go when you aren't eating enough.

Soooo stop starving yourself!!

Stephan

processed food are the culprit.  so one could add snacks and many frozen quiky stuff.  the food industry WANTS us to think coke/pepsi- burger.  when one is on the go- it is hard to eat healthy. one also needs more calorees then. we are meant to graze not pig out at all you can eat buffets.

here is what works for me. i try to eat what is good for me. but allow for some proccessed food.  the end result is a better quality life.

i used to love to go to duncan donuts- but really it is so sopped with sugar- corn syrup and the like... a mocha latte has over 600 calories in it- i had been going every day!    obviously i had to stop.

many food companies also selll drugs. so- in the name of profit- lipator can be sold for 4000x the cost-

have dr ozz go thru your kitchen- he was on Oprah  and discovery health

I heard on the news (imagine that) that if you diet without exercising that it is actually worse. I've heard about the Five Small Meals thing and I now many who do it. And while you do lose some weight let's be honest.... If you just sit on your ass all day don't expect miracles. I'm not trying to blast anything it's my friend that is driving me crazy. She's always complaining, but when I invite her to workout out with me (even just to go for a walk!) she says "Nope, too much effort." And that is a direct quote! And fast food is getting a bad rap I think. Yes they contribute, but what about those restarants that serve you a 12 oz steak (when you probably only need like 3 oz of meat a day), potato with butter and sour cream, and french fries. Yes you get a before dinner salad but what about the dressing? Or the all you can eat buffets? When you have more to sample, you end up eating more then you should; even after you feel full! The whole point of my rant is....

PLEASE DON'T TAKE MY NUGGETS AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *sobs* I LOVE YOU MICKY D's!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heh, honestly I wish I could gain weight. Seriously.... I eat more then the avarage person my age, and I don't gain a damn thing, sometimes I find myself lossing more then I gain. And it's depressing because, most people find people who are large then me, more attractive. Also, it makes me kind of sad to look at myself in the mirror and see ribs. And go, what the hell???

Another thing that bothers me is, that if someone calls a larger person fat, or cow or whatever, everyone is like OMG! You're a bitch... But it's okay for someone to call another person skeletor or she needs to eat more... I hate double standards.

If anyone wants to donate twnety pounds, I'll gladly take it.

Kali,

I do not mind your venting.  Life and love handles are both unfair.
Some people get a big belly and some get bigger boobage and buttage. Some have to live at the gym
and others cannot gain a pound.   Do what is right for you and stick with that routine!

Good luck!

All of the above, seeks.  Anything devoid of nutritional value and roughage to keep your bowel movements regular.

Yeah, running to the mall and lifting triple-shot-double-whipped-creme-coffee-confections does not count!

I think it would be funny if they had "Carrot Cake Trucks" just like Ice cream trucks with the chintzy music comming out of speakers.
They could have the carrot cakes hanging off a string from a stick on the back of the truck and people chasing them down the street.
