This riddle annoys the hell outta me and we should be able to get three numbers from the riddle one from each line HELP ME PLEASE

Nine are we when taken all three,
Last One slain, six remain,
None survive our first less five.

If you can come up with the answer I will be your bestest friend........

The riddle is a simple algebra problem:
(where X=first digit, Y=second digit, Z="last" digit)

X + Y + Z =9
X + Y =6
X - 5 =0

so...X =5,
and so, 5 + Y =6, or Y =1,
and so, 5 + 1 + Z =9, or Z =(9-5-1) =3

Yanno...tis funny how, even when you try to get away from it, math is one of those things from school that continues to follow you through the years. I am sooooooooooo glad that an answer came forth because I would have written it down and gone back to the office to work it out...how twisted AM I?
