okay heres the situation straight up. I caught ringworm at the gym, and somehow the infection got on my penis. I got myself some lotrimin ultra and am using that, even though it seems to be spreading on other areas of my body, my main focus is my groin as it seems to be the msot sensative area, and I'm waking up eevry day with hell of a time itching. so other then the stuff i'm using now, what else can I use to kill this fungus off?

You need to take yourself to a doctor and get a perscription. Stop scratching! And go to the doctor or clinic. It can really do some damage!

they must have a walk in clinic... or even a sexual health/planned parenthood clinic... get checked out because little seemingly innocuous problems can become expensive.

Blue star ointment if it is indeed ring worm.. ie the tell tale sign is it is actualy a round ring that is raised, red, and itches like it is on fire. ( My condolances.. I got one once from a cat scratch ) Smear blue star ointment on it 3 times to 4 times a day. if it is on your privates it will hurt like a sumofabiotch. The Camphor and other stuff literaily kill the stuff. But it will kill it. You will have to do this for well over a week, maybe 2 depending on how badly you are infected. Do not scratch. You will only spread it. Take good old oatmeal, put it through the fastest speed on your food processor, coffee grinder, or blender. (dry of course) Place 3-4 tablespoons of the mixture you processed ( and placed in a zip loc because you are smart..) in warm running water for a bath. It will cease the itching and condition the skin. Good luck! When I was a kid, there was an outbreak at the grammar school I attended. Someone came to our home to check the head of my brothers and me; we all had it…right along with a good percentage of the rest of the school. My mom’s pediatrician suggested ‘white (clear) iodine’ rather than the damn purple stuff that was also fairly expensive. Perhaps THAT is why the school nurse came to our home…nobody believed we could be cured if we didn’t ‘wear’ the purple stuff. Anyway, we got rid of it faster and cheaper than anybody else. On a different note, have you read about MRSA, the drug resistant bacteria often spread in gyms and especially from sweat and blood of wrestling and boxing mats? Protect yourself, kiddo, it’s an epidemic…which some believe will kill more people than has AIDS; google it! Beverly

No medical insurance should not deter you from treatment. Go to a FREE clinic. The wait will be long but you will be seen and treated. You may even be given samples. But I wouldn't use anything homeopathic or anything OTC. You have a medical problem. Worse come to worse go to the damn ER. The wait will be long there too but you will eventually be seen. A ring worm on your penis is dangerous and again something to not play with. You are not only hurting yourself but you're CONTAGIOUS! Get your ass to the doctor.

okay went and got myself checked out (bye bye 250 bucks) turns out its not ringworm at all but a contact allergy, but teh way it was moving about made it seem like ringworm. got me on steroid cream now so..yay.

Definitive diagnosis is by a skin scraping, examined microscopically for fungal hyphal elements. I had it once, on the back of an ankle - drove me nuts as it slowly got bigger and bigger. Took three Docs to finally diagnose it. One put me on steroid cream first while waiting for the results of the skin scraping... called me up as soon as she knew better and switched to an over-the-counter athlete's foot ointment. Cleared quickly after that.

well no skin scraping here, but I think I was lucky eitehr way since the steroid stuff seems to be working quite fine, alot of the redness is gone from areas like my groin and face, and my arms seem to be doing a little better. And finaly got an erection today so that means dicks getting healthier. Still got a little itching here and there though, but anything cold kills that quick. swear my face was so bad I was looking like a boiled mongoloid just last night, egh. Also learned that for some reason machines dont like me so the only way I can have my blood pressure taken correctly is with the handheld cuff and handpump. Theyre gonna love me at MEPS

Miconozole nitrate usually clears up ringworm (which is not a worm at all--rather as pointed out a fungus which the body is not dealing with). In groin areas if miconozole nitrate doesn't work econozole nitrate (can't remember the trade name) usually works. The penis is generally not a ringworm target since it isn't damp enough. Contact or irrritant deramatitis makes sense, and the penis is often rather reactive to contact dermatitis, sometimes swelling up quite amazingly--and often not itching much, as in the case of poison ivy. The question I have--is what are you contacting, that is irritating or reacting. It is not uncommon for females to develop allergic contact dermatitis within the vagina due to an allergic reaction with a male's semen. This can interfere with attempts at pregnancy, but is usually alleviated by the use of condoms. I would wonder if there is a reverse reaction here for you. Perhaps you are reacting to something within your partner's vagina? Try wearing a condom and see if that stops the outbreak. If latex is a problem try urethane ones.

you might want to read the other posts already made, turns out it wasent ringworm, it was a contact allergic reaction from somehting at the gym, some douche obviously left some kind of residue like hand cream or god knows what and left it on the equipment, when I came to use said machines the stuff got on my hands and arms, and from then on anypart of my body that I touched, including my penis when I went to piss or whatever, automatically got infected. not fun. Eccspecially not the first couple days when I was experimenting with different things to kill it off, including using alcahol a few times. Really not fun.

I'm glad you were able to get yourself taken care of. On a word of advice, I reccomend that you now delete this thread and ask the mods to end it. After all, anyone who is having an interest in you is likly to read your post. Women say they want to know everything about there man but are usually the first to blab out TMI.

I'll be fine, if there where any other girls in Vegas interested in me they would have contacted me by now. And my mistress already knows about the condition. She even gave me cookies.

oooh......Im gonna go start a thread about ringworm and see if someone gives me cookies.... anyway, rumtiger, glad to hear its all working out and wasnt anything major....just trust me...dont go to the military docs to discuss anything having to do with your dick. its bad.
