Like most Jews of my generation, body mods convey unfortunate messages to us of nonconsentual treatment in the Nazi death camps. He would like it if I got my nipples pierced but I won't do any body mods. The idea makes me ill.

The only reason my ears are pierced is that I was given my grandmother's diamond earrings when I got married and you can't wear diamonds as clip ons. Without that, they still wouldn't be.

just wondering what other owners have done or considered on the subject of tattoos, piercings, or brands as symbols of ownership, in place of or in addition to a collar. looking for new ideas for new tattoos or permanent marks.

Once I've reached the appropriate level with a sub/slave I very much love the idea of intentionally permanent marks.  Tattoos, maybe.  Piercing or scarification done by my own hand, yes.  And branding I am hoping to learn, so once I have then yes to that as well.

With some it's a shared passion, modification... with a slave who I own, it would be part of expressing ownership... that their body is mine to change or mark as I see fit and that they have handed themselves over to me so, in addition to the mark being a sign of their service.

I have always wanted a tattoo for as long as I can remember. But well, I didn't want something cheesy, or something i will regret later in life. After all a tatt is well.... permanent... Over the past few years I've been drawn towards dragons, so been thinking about some tatt of a dragon... *Real traditional dragons.. not the oriental ones.. Nothing is wrong with those ones, I just personally like the traditional medival Dragons.*

Master has been wanting to get me a collar for quite sometime. But I wanted something that no one else has, something can't be removed, lost, or tainted over time and breaks or what ever age may do to it. So with that, my Collar is of 2 dragons holding a lock on my chest, the tails will wrap around my neck holding the key. The colors are going to be of a yin and yang type style of blue and purple/burgandy *haven't decided yet* ...

Obviously wanted something to symbolize that one Dragon is his and other is mine, so one has his astrological sign, the other has mine. It looks likes a birth mark of the Dragons. Their wings drape over my shoulders making it look like I have Dragon wings. Master let me pick out what I wanted considering it will be on my body, but he helped with ideas as well as the artist that is working on it.  The whole tatt is pretty extreme for a 1st tatt. It is far more than worth it because I know for a fact no one else will ever have this same tattoo, it can never get damaged or lost.... It is the perfect Collar. And also since I have a high respect for Dragons, I have the upmost respect of what this design and collar means to me ... More than anyone ... Even my Master ... Will ever know.

Scyn, that sounds spectacular!  So unique and meaningful, I feel like you will certainly not regret it.

The design I've had in mind since I was a girl has a yin/yang meaning to it.  It is antisymmetrical like yin yang, and has some other mathematical balances to it that appear in nature (I've always had a scientific mind and loved the elements that drive the shaping of the world, and thus life), particularly involving the number phi, the golden ratio.  It has always meant complementarity, balance, flow, dynamic equilibrium, harmony of opposites, the darkness and light that I've always known thrive and compliment eachother in me... and this was before I discovered D/s.  Now it has even greater depth of meaning to me.  I've never had the motivation to actually place it permanently on my body, was thinking maybe jewelry instead, but I've loved the design for so long, and its meaning continues to grow for me, especially now in such a beautifully balanced relationship I'd like to get that tatoo, to honor the depth of expression of myself that I've found.  So like Stephan said, it wouldn't be an ownership marking, but it would be a physical representation of what our relationship means to me.

Aye, it is very unique, I've been trying to get a picture of it approved so it'll be in my profile, or even my avatar. But thinking I'm going to have to redo the picture, probly get my mom to take a pic of it and see what she can do. /shrug.

I can't wait till it's done though. I have about 2-3 more sessions. Have already spent 12 hours on it. Most the shading is done, need their colors and the tails are going to be *as the artists says* the icy on the cake. Was hoping to have it done by my birthday, but that won't happen. It'll be mostly done though.

I have 13 tattoos and 2 or them are Bondage based. They are very large one on each rib from arm pit to waist. It is always fun at the beach seeing reactions to them, but the best is when someone gives you a slight smile. Just me thoughts. Do what is right for you.

interesting how tattoo "convey unfortunate messages to us of nonconsentual treatment in the Nazi death camps", but Master/slave, dom/sub lifestyle does not.

i have seen plenty of jews of all ages with tattoos.

missanthropic
"It ranks up there with tigers, dragons, eagles, black roses, cherrys and bluebirds. It would be nice if someone picked something  interesting and novel instead of all looking like badly drawn clones." you forgot kanji.

like many other things(including bdsm lifestyle), tattooing has been going on for many, many years, and to come up with an original idea is hard to do. i have people come in quite often saying something like, i want  a butterfly, but i dont want it to be like anyone elses. i usually tell them if you dont want it like anyone elses, then you can always draw your own. you can change color all you want, but how much subject matter is really untouched out there.?

Katy,
Thank you for finding that. I had never heard that before. I had heard from a few of My Jewish friends that if they were tattooed that they couldn't be buried in a Jewish Cemetery.

He did a cutting of a pair of crossed swords on me and Alandra; the cutting is high on our right thighs.

A delicate issue, I am sure.  I had the privilege of talking to David Faber, Auschwitz and Death March survivor, author and speaker.  He showed the number on his arm and described in revolting detail how it was placed on him.  He said, "This is not a tattoo.  A tattoo is a civil inked mark, done in a humane way, for people who enjoy them."  He reiterated his marking was placed while being held by two men, and driven into him with nails and paint.

I found his view on tattoos to be interesting.  .

I used to have an aversion to tattoos because of Biblical scripture, telling us to keep our bodies unmarked.    That is no longer a concern of mine, however.

tara, a good friend of mine, is of the jewish faith, and has several tats, she has said there is no way in hell they are going to keep her from being buried next to her son, who passed away a few years ago.  As for myself, I love tattoos, if I had more $$ would definately get more. However I am not crazy about the thought of getting one to represent my relationship with my dominant/partner. And other then a few more holes in my ears, or a nose ring or eyebrow ring, I do not want any other piercing.  as for branding I feel the same about that as I do about tatts.

Scarification fascinates me.  It's the texture, the raised skin in contrast to the smooth flat skin, the subtleness.

Not so much 'interesting' as pondering the difference a little consent can make....
