When you see that in a profile, do you think:

a) Open minded
or
b) Desperate?

I usually take that as saying "I am not all the hot, so my standards have been lowered".

I am certain that I am viewing it wrong, though. [sm=dance.gif]

No, i think you might possibly be correct!  ;)

astarri -> RE: "Age, race, and looks unimportant" (12/7/2007 7:50:14 PM)

ei see it as someone who prefers someones inner qualities as opposed to the outter ones. Perhaps i see the world through rose coloured glasses though. i am someone who believe there is nothing physically i can not over look if they click with me inside

edited to add ... and im pretty cute for the record!! I mean im not a model or anything but i also do not repulse anyone

KyttynTheMynx -> RE: "Age, race, and looks unimportant" (12/7/2007 7:50:33 PM)

I usually see it as someone wanting to know the innards of a person, instead of the outer packaging.  Then again, I could be wrong...

juliaoceania -> RE: "Age, race, and looks unimportant" (12/7/2007 7:55:54 PM)

I think that this person has gotten to the point in life where these things are not important to them. I have noticed that more older people feel this way than younger people,  because after living a long life these things become less and less important to many people. I know they have decreased drastically in importance to me as I have aged... not that they are not important at all, but much less so than they once were (well age is important to me)

Lumus -> RE: "Age, race, and looks unimportant" (12/7/2007 7:56:05 PM)

Sounds like they want the mind more than the rest.  Amen to that concept.

RumpusParable -> RE: "Age, race, and looks unimportant" (12/7/2007 7:58:31 PM)

Depends on the tone of the rest of the profile...

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: "Age, race, and looks unimportant" (12/7/2007 8:05:16 PM)

As with most things- I am skeptical, and require more information before making anything close to a conclusion.

*whispers over your left shoulder*

But you know you want to.

dcnovice -> RE: "Age, race, and looks unimportant" (12/7/2007 8:08:31 PM)

I always think, "Hey, somebody I might actually have a chance with." [:)]

grlneedstolearn -> RE: "Age, race, and looks unimportant" (12/7/2007 8:10:06 PM)

That they can look on what's on the inside of the person rather than judge by their outer appearance.

Rendclaw -> RE: "Age, race, and looks unimportant" (12/7/2007 8:15:17 PM)

I have never judged someone by what they look like, but rather on how they act and who they are. I have dated and kept women in a wide range of ages, shapes and sizes, and variety is the spice of life. Don't limit yourself in any way, and you will find that your life will be all the better for it.

*jumps off the soapbox and runs back to work*

Lets see, their standards are lower?
Because they don't judge people by age, race, or looks?
You take the cake. you do live up to your chosen name.

I am actually a bit offended by this topic and many of the responses, so I will not
read or respond any more so I can enjoy my weekend.[:D]

Neither...i'm grateful....[;)]

No, that's when they say "Pulse unimportant."

(Truth-in-advertising laws require me to admit that I stole that joke from Eddie Izzard.)

laurell3 -> RE: "Age, race, and looks unimportant" (12/7/2007 8:18:22 PM)

I suppose it could be either.  I've never considered race at all when looking.  I would guess if someone 99 years old contacted me I wouldn't be interested.  But overall, the quality of the person is much more important to me.  I've never put anything in my profile to say those things though, I just talk to anyone that isn't creepy.

DiurnalVampire -> RE: "Age, race, and looks unimportant" (12/7/2007 8:18:30 PM)

I tend to think either new, or very open minded. But depending n the tone of the rest of the profile, it might sound sincere and interested, or it might come off sounding jaded and desperate. Context is as important ans phrasing.

Am I creepy, laurell?

*returns his thumb to his mouth*
