A few months ago I was here posting in a fit of anger that the play, "Twist - The Musical" - came and went in NYC with no one telling me so I could fly out and see it.   (for a clip from the play, check out http://youtube.com/watch?v=XN3mLKlQzZk).

Well, as luck would have it, the play came to Los Angeles, with a new cast.  I saw it recently and finally had a chance to peel myself from the chair and calm myself down.  Nothing like seeing a kinky, bondage-esque version of Oliver Twist complete with straitjackets, ball gags, men in lingerie and high heels, great m/m kissing -- and, comedy to boot.  MissBlue's (my kinky partner in crime) only complaint, "Need More Beatin!" -- well, true, but I was quite content with what it did dish out.

Twist in this version is played by yummy Brandon Ruckdashel (http://www.brandonruckdashel.com/frontart.html) who plays the "piggie bottom" Twist quite believably. If you've ever had a sub who gets a shiteating grin on his face every time the restraints come out or he sees a crop, you will know what I mean. That's where the ongoing humor of, "More, please?" comes into play.  Yes, poor boy can never, ever get enough.  He ends up hooking up with male prostitutes and is eventually taken into the home of the richest lady in town (who dresses him up in high heels and lingerie).   She later tries to explain to him, awkwardly, that she doesn't like boys, and Twist responds with boyish charm, "Oh, you like girls then?"   "No," she continues.  "I like....shoes."   You can see where that is going.  By the end of the play she adopts (well, you know what I mean) both Twist and his boy lover so they can BOTH be her shoe boys apparently.   Now that sounds like a dream job.

So - anyway,  despite the few drawbacks - like, of course, none of the bondage appeared to be *even remotely* inescapable - and, yes, like MissBlue says, there could have been some more whacks with the crop or cane - it was still very worth the price of admission.  And personally, I prefer my bondage bottoms to show at least some hint of apprehension or fear -- and Twist was the stereotypically needy bottom that just craves more and more.  Hell, if a bottom looked like that and had those eyes, I don't think I'd get tired of tying him up either.

If you are in Los Angeles, I recommend taking a peek. It's only running through the end of the month.  More info at:
