A gift is just that, a Gift something that one desires to give another, Hopefully with some thought and desire behind it so its not a "regifted" gift or worse yet a "gift card".
Asking what one would like is find regardless of their orienttion but that should only be a guide. Follow your heart in gifts. Not corporate America or what is "expected". Many of the best gifts are free.

I much perfer surprising her. she will have mentioned something she wanted as much as a year ago, I file that info away, then I am able to see the joy on her face, works for birthday's too
