So..wheres the best place to find them? Say you finally found someone on CM you're willing to shell out the dough for to fly them to your home, but you aint exactly the richest folks on the planet and you need to find a decent price...where do you go?

Anyone got Shatners number? Think he'll bring the tazer?

We usually use sidestep.com it searches a number of websites including the top ones.  Orbitz among others.
Keep the travel dates open..different days of the weeks make a big difference in price when traveling.

Kayak. com searches all of the major airlines and the discount sites at once. Some airlines, such as Southwest or Allegiant aren't in their search engine, so you have to search them separately. Am not sure where you are, but search for alternate locations as well. I always fly into Vegas when am going to Southern California - it's way cheaper.

These days you have to search online. It is the only way. In my case - my area is not really served well...so one has to fly out of Baltimore -Philly or NYC for the cheaper flights.

Frankly the last time I flied it was- would have been 5.5 hour delay. This was a direct flight too. SO being the drive is 640 miles- I drove it instead.

Play with priceline.com    After a few tries it will tell you the lowest fare. [a point of reference]Also- Tues, Wed, Thur are typically best.

LOL...Shatner.
i am sure you must know of the online sites? Just type in discount airfare and you will get links.
Funny you asked that as  i called a bluff a week ago to get someone on my companion passes... to which he disappeared from the text world and cell space. :)
Good luck.. and if you can, try and get one that has no transfers, although it may be a few more dollars.

i use expedia.com. If you do find a cheap price, note which airline it is and give them a call. Sometimes thats cheaper and often they will match any discounted fairs.

One tip, although a lot of these sites seem cheaper, they dont come with all the taxes ect added on. You need to take that into account.

I just call up the airline that I want to use and I always got the best prices buying directly from them.  Websites like Expedia and Orbitz are rip-offs.  The prices are usually 20% or more higher than calling the airlines direct.  I prefer flying Continental and have had the best service with them.  I never lost baggage and I was always compensated for any major delays.
