I love Soulful House Music, Reggae, R&B Hip Hop and Chill Out/Lounge/Trip Hop equally.

dang it level, you only allow one answer.......how unfair.....i cant choose just one, but i love classic rock and the blues...and if im in a really pissy mood country is great

Raechard -> RE: What's your favorite kind of music? (12/22/2007 5:19:06 PM)

I protest that elevator/shop music wasn’t listed as a choice. This is an exciting upcoming genre and deserves a mention.

Some Esquivel, perhaps, Raechard?  It sounds great in retail environments!

james66 -> RE: What's your favorite kind of music? (12/22/2007 7:15:38 PM)

Morrissey. The Smiths.

oreogirl -> RE: What's your favorite kind of music? (12/22/2007 8:35:56 PM)

Like Raechard, I object to the choices listed!  Umm where is metal, goth, emo, industrial, and / or alternative on the list?  I mean, has no one here ever heard of Kidney Thieves or Voltaire?

NaiveTempest -> RE: What's your favorite kind of music? (12/22/2007 8:46:07 PM)

I listen to a wide variety of music, but I like Nu-Soul, Oldies and R&B the most.

No objecting! [sm=crop.gif]

And why did they steal Voltaire's kidney?

There are only ten options availible when you do a poll; I didn't feel like doing several threads, so I picked the ten that pretty much covered the musical spectrum.

Classic rock here too.

rubberpet -> RE: What's your favorite kind of music? (12/23/2007 7:29:16 AM)

I like a little bit of everything.  I love metal, hard rock, alternative, classic rock, country (not the crap from the last few years), oldies doo-wap, classical, celtic, Cajun and zydeco, and even bagpipe music.  I'm not a fan of rap (unless it's old-school stuff like Run DMC), R&B, pop, or opera.  So I could bounce from Slayer to Shania Twain, White Zombie to Elvis, AC/DC to Chuck Berry, and even 2 Live Crew to Little Richard.  Amazing Grace on the bagpipes is such a beautiful song.

sambamanslilgirl -> RE: What's your favorite kind of music? (12/23/2007 7:36:22 AM)

i have an eclectice music taste - from classical to opera (was trained to be a professional singer) to rock, metal, punk, experimental, etc to R&B/Soul/Funk to new age to acoustic/folk or powerpop.

i loathe hiphop/rap (unless it's "old school" like Run DMC or Tone Loc- just met/seen him recently) however i will "suffer" and review one for the station's demographics.

MadameMarque and myself have similar problems.  There's no listing of goth/punk/industrial or asian rock ( be it j-rock or k-rock ).

Speaking of which;  MadameMarque,  what do you think of Seo Tajii?

Aw, Razor!  Seo Taiji??  Seventh IssueLive Wire!  Have you heard their [his and his band's] acoustic performance of Heffy?  Beautiful!  Have you seen their videos?  To Love.  I wonder where I can get copies of their videos, in fact.  Do you know?  I think there's a majesty to his sound.  Seo Taiji gives me a rush.

hyde is my love.

Miyavi - his music, his voice, they lock into my nervous system!  There's just something about him and his music.

Razor, have you discovered Calmando Qual?  Let me recommend them to you.  So musical and moving and inventive.  How to categorize...some of it is outright industrial.  Some is dark and melodic.  Their EP's Silent and Twisted Clock are good to start.  (Anything other than their one techno remix album, Mechanical Mix with unjust blood - I just say 'no' to techno.)

"Horizons rise
here in my eyes
The sound of silence comes
But in my heart,
a distant hope
is mine forever more."

- from "Horizon," lyrics by hyde

I've actually been following his various band and solo work ever since the very early 90s.  Of course this was when his band was called "Seo Tajii Boys".  At the time they were pretty much the Korean version of New Kids on the Block.  He's come a LOOONG way from those days.

Actually,  I just got finished watching "Moonchild".

*nods*  They're decent.  Though sometimes I do have to wash the dark away with a little Polysics, aka the japanese Devo.  The girls in that band are just so adorable.  I wanted to put them in my coatpocket and steal them when they played my club a few years ago.

I try not to take the dark too seriously.  I think that's why I enjoy Voltaire's stuff so much.  Well that and he's extremly fun to fuck with.

It's not stolen.  It just fled in rebellion.  It's hiding out with his liver.  You should see how he abuses them.
