While not exactly a success story, but I've met several people from munches, BDSM events and even here. I would suggest to anyone new to TAKE YOUR TIME. Get online, post in the forums (even though that's one thing I haven't done much of), go to munches, and events and even send out the WELL WRITTEN AND THOUGHT OUT not to someone you might be interested in. And don't forget to treat it like a job interview. In other words SHOW YOUR BEST.
Always remember that trust is a key element of any healthy relationship, and doubly important in a BDSM one. So don't get down, and don't try to force things, just take your time and let people get to know you. Once you do you'll start making friends and through your friends, you'll find that great Dom/Domme and/or sub.
FYI, I've recently met a pretty neat Domme who I enjoy playing with. With my schedule it's hard to play as often as I'd like, and anything more than that is simply impossible, but we all do what we can. Now to find that sub to do my chores around the house so I can play more!!!!!
Anyway, just wanted to offer my experience.
