Willowmoon -> Flogger search (12/22/2007 12:59:17 AM)

A while ago I came across some awsome sensual floggers. They were like rope that had been unraveled. Now that I want to buy one I can not find the sight i found them on can anybody help?

What are some other good sites for floggers and reccomendations for types of floggers. I am more in to thuddy then stingy but Master wants me to find a nice set.

Willow

You can actually make them yourself quite easily - I'm not much of a craftsmen when it comes to toys, and I've made those type.   Get a steel O ring (in the same section of Home Depot as the rope is), cut a few double-long lenths of rope (twisted rope will be much easier to unravel than braided, but both would work).   Double the rope over through the O ring.   Tightly wrap rope or cloth around the top near the O-ring to form a handle (some basic macrame skills help here).   You could use tape as a base to wrap the rope/cloth over.  Then the next couple times you watch TV, sit there and unravel the rope.  Voila  -  you have a rope flogger, for under $10.

For buying floggers, my favorite two sites are www.detailstoys.com and www.flogger.com.    They both make good quality, sturdy toys that are well priced.  If you're looking for thumpy, some good leathers to consider are deer, moose, elk, suede, bunny.

These people are the best, in my opinion. Excellent quality and willing to do custom orders.

http://www.bobandmichelle.com/    also know as Lifestyle Leather & Wood. They are in the Atlanta area.

I have liked most of what I have seen on the Details site, and have been thinking about buying some stuff there when I get the moola.  Ms.SonnetMarwood, if you don't mind my asking, what did you buy there? OP, sorry to hijack your thread.

Old Bastardly One, the website you listed, is not in service at the moment.

The website I noted says "not in service", but their contact info is valid. Email or call them, they will be happy to send you a catalog.

Wian Studios (http://www.wian-studios.com/leather.html) makes some really lovely floggers. I have their bull hide and their buffalo hide, both of which are pretty thuddy. The buffalo hide especially so.

I make my rope floggers using a split ring key ring and a variety of bicycle grips. I'm actually going to be making a few today as stocking stuffers.

Willow, I'm sending you two emails on the other side, with step by step pictures for making your own soft rope flogger.

Dear Willowmoon, Ladies and Gentlemen;

Majority of my floggers (the latest set) was made by Lori Dwinelle, of The Toy Bag; from Virginia.

Her web site is www.toybag.com and she has www.heartwoodwhips.com also.

A picture of her original style of floggers can be seen on www.recon.com/Hugs  I have three in one hand.  They are rather heavy handles, being made of exotic wood but--I also find having exotic wood with sap marks, is like a fingerprint and its harder for them to find them in another person's hands for long (theft wise).

I have deer suede, calf suede, deer, elk, nubuck, lamb, moose, light cow, heavy cow, bull, bull narrow tails, rubber and most every paddle she offers.  Being based in Virginia and able to feel before I buy, matters more than name brands.  Having a lifetime guarentee also helps and she also is a lifetime Dominant--so she does make for heavy use.

DeTails Toys is a really nice provider of whips these days--taking over the void of Sarah Lashes and other whip makers who have had problems with their hands from years and years of braiding.  Their web site is www.DeTailsToys.com

I do have the whip with the red roses on the ends.  It hits like a bunch of mini hands and a very deep thud.  I also have a whip that is much like a cat-o-nines but three tails and leaf tipped lashes.

If I needed to replace my flogger collection I would most likely purchase DeTail floggers.  I wasn't exactly sold on their single tails.  Chain flails were nice but a bit short for my tastes.

Just some thoughts.

Respectfully submitted for consideration,
Lady Hugs

All of the vendors I'm posting are known to me (many used by me as well) for their quality.

http://www.aswgt.com/floggers.html#nylonfloggers (The Tribble is fantastic)

The guy I primarily buy from now, Stan from Happy Tails, generally does not sell rope floggers (but I'll spam ya with his link anyhow!) -- http://www.flogger.com .  Bo and Skye from Details Toys are also fantastic: http://www.detailstoys.com/

Willow,

I’m speaking from limited experience here, but if you’re looking for thuddy in your set too, give moose hide a try.

I only have one flogger, a moose hide, and I love it. The balance and feel of the one I purchased work for me, although your master will have to be the one to choose what works for him as far as that goes.

(And I have to admit the thud was kind of sweet on the receiving end. A mentor friend ran me through several different types so I would know exactly what each felt like as far as sting/thud, etc).

I got mine from MT Leather:

I bought black and red silk rope online.  Using that, a dowel which I cut back to 8" and drove a nail in to weight it, I created my own floggers.   I looped the rope around the dowel, and then tightly wrapped suede twine around, giving the handle a nice grip.  I bought the dowels and twine and glue at Michael's craft store.  All in all, each flogger cost me about $30 or $40.  The silk rope was the most costly.

One has frayed ends, which feels quite erotic, the other has knotted ends, which leaves a nice thud and round purple bruises.  There are several "how to" sites online that are a bit helpful, if you choose to construct your own.

If you want a stereotypical flogger, you can't go wrong with Bob and Michelle.

When I want to be sensual with a flogger I pull out my satin flogger.  I found it at a local BDSM club in Chicago, I believe they have some at Black Market Chicago too.
