JordanNYC -> how many of the pros get called a prostitute? (12/23/2007 11:28:16 AM)

i am finding submissive men are writing me here more and more often simply to insult me and call me a prostitute. wtf? are they just frustrated? are they THAT pathetic? either way, it's irritating, to say the least.

Many men will assume you're willing to have sex with your play slaves.  To get an answer on this I had to go to the labrinth's site, you page there (which doesn't load any date), FAQ's, "What is not allowed?" (Which THERE, hidden amongst sexy pictures and all manner of arousing 'tings, is one line.

What is not allowed?
Sex, in a word. No form of it, ever. We love begging, but not in this case

Most men are not going to do that research.  I presume your numbers would go down slightly if you spent too much time making clear they weren't going to get laid, so there's the trade-off.... Maybe men begging for sex all day doesn't appeal to you, but it could boost revenue.

Very pathetic I'd say.....Pro Dommes are not prostitutes..

Jordan, i am very sorry that anyone here gets such emails. Not every submissive thinks along those lines.

I have had several submissives contact me about a session and then neglected to respond when I informed them that there would be no sex during the session. If you want kinky sex, find an escort with a whip.... thats just my feelings on the matter.

Four reasons based in sexism:

1)  Many males still have issues enough with females and sex, both, as to think that "prostitute" is an insult in some way.

2)  Sexually confident females are threatening especially if they aren't open to having sex with them.  -Same thing that causes them to call females who display that confidence as "sluts" regardless of the female's experience level (if any) or tendencies, call females who turn them down a "lesbian" or "bitch" or "cunt"... and so on.

3)  Inability to see an attractive female, pro-dom or not, overtly sexual or completely modest in mode, as anything other than a commodity to be bought in some manner.  Which brings us to...

4)  ... Entitlement.  They becoming angry when the object they want to buy turns out to not be for sale, but rather to be a person who is selling skills and services while daring to be attractive at the same time.  And we rotate back to 1 where they make a lame attempt at insult by labeling you with the thing they wish you were.

Thank god for the males that don't have these issues!

But no, I don't tend to get random "prostitute!" drive-bys here on CM... or really elsewhere...  just guys that want me to do a pro session for them for free or guys who lose interest after I explain that I don't do sexual services or let them touch me (except to paint my toenails or the like).

note i said insult AND call me a prostitute. i have friends who are escorts, i dont consider it an insult. but when it's combined with insults, it's meant as one. and i often get these. rude, disrespectful submissive males with one liners, always including my being called a prostitute.

=\ Thats the cost of free drinks for your sisters.

flowspen -> RE: how many of the pros get called a prostitute? (12/23/2007 3:57:06 PM)

it is there way of trying to get a reaction out of you, or to have some simple minded control over you.  Many males do not understand the Pro Dom and most are frustrated that they are not free enough to be who they really want to be.  So they lash out like children hoping you will get angry and email them back.  See like a child negative attention is better than no attention and like a child who acts like that.. alone time for them always works best to get rid of annoying people.  It is unfortunate that you have to experience this.

The more extreme form is called 'domme baiting' and is best delt with the 'block' button. I have noted that I get FAR less emails now that I block freely, there were just that many repeat offenders.  Also a good way to deal with form letter senders (I also tend to cut and paste the mas of exact same emails sent to me so they see WHY they are being blocked, not that I expect they care).

Lashra -> RE: how many of the pros get called a prostitute? (12/23/2007 7:26:09 PM)

People are ignorant in the difference between the definitions of the words "prostitute" and "ProDomme". They tend to toss them into the same lot which they clearly are not. It all comes down to people objectifying females for a males pleasure....[:'(]

I truly believe that the last bastion of male independence is the wallet.  Imagine not being able to pay for anything they want!  Imagine HAVING to pay to get what they want!  A catch-22.

I don't remember anyone sending me insulting mail here--at least not of that type--but it doesn't surprise me.  Sigh sadly, and delete.  And block.

I agree and welcome back flowspen.

I think I would ask them for their definition of prostitute.

MsCfromMelbourne -> RE: how many of the pros get called a prostitute? (12/23/2007 8:32:00 PM)

As said elsewhere ad nauseum, prostitution is legal in most developed nations (but not the US for the most part).  Sex workers are caring, law abiding, tax paying citizens performing a valuable social service.

Over here, Dominatrices are registered and have PCA (Prostitution Control Act) numbers so they can legally sell sexually stimulating BDSM services.  They don't usually do full sex, but nor do they have to go to farcical lengths pretending they don't work in the "adult industry" performing erotic acts for money.

So bloody what if a pro-domme is technically also a prostitute?  Who cares?  It is her free choice and her business.  Why does anyone think that is an insult?  In a modern secular society?

LotusSong -> RE: how many of the pros get called a prostitute? (12/23/2007 9:06:26 PM)

Up here, a guy's definition (I'll use Neanderthal-speak here):  "Me give woman money for attention.  If she get me off- she gooooood prostitute.  She no make me squirt... she baaaaaaaaaad prostitute"

It's a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation.  If the boy get's naked and gets his dick played with.. and he pays for it.. he sees no diffeence. (shrug)

Now, if you do the same thing and DON'T charge...a woman is then a whore.

Sad, insecure little men that hide behind a computer screen and keyboard to do such childish things.  I don't think you were working pro back in the early to mid-90s when it was still mostly referrals from Punishment Square, DDI, Dominant Mystique and the City paper-type rags.  We used to get called whores on the phone all the time by the wankers who were pounding their meat at the same time flaunting their long-distance bravado.  Only the medium has changed.

Perhaps it's the environment you're in and the freedoms that you have in your employment that makes this whole concept difficult to understand.  Here in the states, the profemdom disavowing that she is NOT a prostitute seems to be the last shred of "trying to be legal" that she has here.  She's not doing prostitution which is clearly on the books as illegal in every state, save for a section of the state of Nevada (not even an entire county, mind you.)  Most of the pros that I know from my days were on the up and up -- we wanted nothing to do with sex acts, and certainly nothing that wasn't at least defensible in court.  "Your honor, if I kick you in the balls with these 6 inch platforms and stomp on your cock with these golf shoes and you get off, I'm guilty as sin....."
