slaverosebeauty -> Beat a Dead Horse Here..... (12/27/2007 10:04:04 AM)

I took a much needed break from the boards, only posting a few entries on my journal here; I cannot say I am surprised to see all the 'dead horses' laying around here, again; are people that lazy?!?! That they cannot or won't run a basic search to find out info on something?!?!  Sheesh..... get a few braincells and do the footwork for yourself.  I know LA and others {myself included} have provided links over and over or even forum links, to help.

This is the place to submit those 'dead horses' that have been battered beyond recognition..

To get things started..

I've often said that beating a dead horse is not my kink, but I can't speak for others.  [8|]

Anything to do with profiles
Anything to do with deception
Any questions relating to the legitimacy of switches

I could probably think of more but the only thing I would say is sometimes people look for new answers in an old subject. They also don’t want to be accused of bumping old threads so they start new ones, I see nothing wrong with that.

batshalom -> RE: Beat a Dead Horse Here..... (12/27/2007 12:38:43 PM)

Well then there's fucking nothing left to talk about. ~huff~ Except the weather. Which will do nicely.

laurell3 -> RE: Beat a Dead Horse Here..... (12/27/2007 3:59:09 PM)

People come and go and let's face it, we really aren't that good at staying on the subject here.  Sometimes the best conversations and/or most humorous ones come from dead horse threads.  Although I agree "no limits" threads should NEVER be brought up again! [8D]

KyttynTheMynx -> RE: Beat a Dead Horse Here..... (12/27/2007 4:02:56 PM)

twue-ism.

The infamous "Youre all meanies, so instead of taking the advice here, I am gonna bitch and whine and piss my Huggies till I hear what I want" threads.

The "Why isnt he or she interested wah wah wah" threads.

The "Jumpin Jesus on a pogo stick! They are calling me vanilla?  Who did I piss off?" threads.

George W. Bush threads and why he is or isnt full of shit, or why he is or isnt soooo AMAZING.  yawn.

Raechard -> RE: Beat a Dead Horse Here..... (12/27/2007 5:04:22 PM)

I’m guilty of going off topic quite a bit because the usual topics I find boring. It’s not for me to judge what the majority want to talk about I suppose.[8|]

Raechard -> RE: Beat a Dead Horse Here..... (12/27/2007 5:05:32 PM)

Why does my font keep coming out in random sizes?[8|]

oreogirl -> RE: Beat a Dead Horse Here..... (12/27/2007 10:00:50 PM)

NaiveTempest -> RE: Beat a Dead Horse Here..... (12/27/2007 10:43:20 PM)

Sub frenzy
Why won't people answer my messages
Why are people sending me messages I don't like
why don't people take me for real
where are the true________s
etc......

I have to admit, I posted on sub frenzy myself when I first joined, lol.

soul2share -> RE: Beat a Dead Horse Here..... (12/28/2007 7:38:48 AM)

OMG!!!!  How can you all forget the fat threads?????  That horse is nothing but a grease spot on the stable floor!

slaverosebeauty -> RE: Beat a Dead Horse Here..... (1/3/2008 3:41:23 PM)

A few more..

breast size
cock size
whining
tributes
threads that end up in 'polls and other random stupidity' after they were posted elsewhere but moved by the mods

lauren0221 -> RE: Beat a Dead Horse Here..... (1/3/2008 3:46:26 PM)

But, am I going to hell because I enjoy some the hilarious responses dead horse threads seem to inspire?

And I think we forgot, "I am miserable in my relationship - have been for 3 years now, what should I do?"

Suleiman -> RE: Beat a Dead Horse Here..... (1/3/2008 4:14:46 PM)

Awww... I say Sadonecrobestiality is a perfectly fine kink. I like watching it from the sidelines. It gives me something to feel smug and superior about. And sometimes, some wonderful, wonderful sadonecrobeastialfetishist says something truly thought-provoking, and I get to pull out my big list of twenty dollar words and other claw-sharpening tools.

alphaspack -> RE: Beat a Dead Horse Here..... (1/3/2008 7:20:17 PM)

Wot? Rehashing stuff isn't fun? How can I be depraved then??

Suleiman -> RE: Beat a Dead Horse Here..... (1/4/2008 12:53:49 PM)

Actually, I came across a related point on another board that took the opposite tack. Some forums believe it is actually better to post a new thread on an old topic, than to stir up an old thread that has been clogged up with too much commentary. This is especially true for "Dead Thread F!ing", where an old thread is dug up so that someone can make snarky replies to other people's comments. As the list mod put it,
quote:

Doing this is obnoxious, especially when it involves commenting on posts users made months and even years ago. It's rude and obnoxious to bring up stuff from the past that is no longer relevant in social situations -- why would you do it on a web forum?

It's also just plain unhygienic.

So it is possible that some of the folks who aren't searching for back-dated threads want current feedback or are just trying to be polite by not dredging up old news. Most, though, I have to admit, just haven't bothered to search (or in the case of the new posters, may not have even noticed that searching was an option)
