xxblushesxx -> electrical play and piercings (1/3/2008 6:47:14 PM)

Master has two medical phd's but He is not a heart doctor.
He's done the research regarding safety and electrical play and knows what He's doing, BUT...
What about people who have piercings in certain places?
I'm asking specifically because I have nipple piercings, but also, what about people who have those OTHER piercings?
Does this call for special considerations, such as removing the piercings when playing?
Anyone here have experience regarding this?

Thanks!

~Christina

Usually, electrical play is either done with a TENS Unit/electrod pads or with a sort of zapper.

Either way, neither normally affect metal piercings unless the pads or zappers are directly applied on top of them.

If you're really worried about the piercings but don't want to remove them, then think about using Silver Studs or some other low conducting alloy.

Either way, I've never seen or read a case where a TENS Unit causes a Heart Attack or Heart Problem.

Legendary fighter Bruce Lee used electrical pads to help with muscle tonement. He would have anywhere from two to six pads pulsating strong on each pectorial muscle and never had a heart complication.

In my view, you're 99% safe to proceed with some electrical play.

I have five erotic piercings, I also own two tens units.

Playing with the piercings in has not been a problem. I use both pads and clamps that were designed to work with the tens, and both are fine. The big thing is not to play across the heart.

If you have nipple piercings and place a pad on either side of a nipple, the feeling is pretty intense (in a good way, for me at least). You can watch the nipple jump and jerk too. Just dont put the pads or clamps from one breast to the other (across the heart). This is actually how I ended up with two tens, I wanted to be able to do both breats at the same time, as well as use other devices.

Silver has the highest electrical conductivity of any metal.  You can read more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrical_conductivity

If you're using a violet wand and his finger or an implement is near the piercing, it will arc.  Arcing on a piercing won't cause any damage that I've ever seen in 10 years of using a violet wand, although if you're wearing glasses or have facial piercings near your eyes, he might want to avoid touching those.  Neither will arcing on jewelry create any notable pleasureable or painful sensations, sadly.

Fangs,

The only way I know to be certain you never make a mistake is to never say or do anything.  I caught this because I'm an electrical engineer.  By the way, I think there's still a lot of fun left in your advice!

If your worried about it take them out just for the session. Nipple as well as lower region piercings shouldn't close up unless they're recently new. I've done electrical play before and my nipple rings have never burned or scorched me. If its a tens unit as long as its not put directly over the heart or anywhere on your head you'll be fine.

I've got both a violet wand and ErosTek 312 unit myself. I've played with those with piercings before without a problem and recalling from all my previous conversations with Uncle Abdul (author of "Juice") I can't think of anything being mentioned besides the fact that the piercing would lower the skins natural resistence. Someone also already mentioned the fact of running the current directly through the heart. With any electrical play a certain level of electrical current is going to reach the hard regardless of where you place the contact points. The closer it is to the heart and the location of the contacts will affect how much current reaches the heart. If you can ever get to take one of Unc's electrical play classes his 9" of meat experiment demonstrates that pretty effectively.

With any play that is considered by many as being edge play you have to examine the potential risks for yourself and make an assessment of whether you want to participate in it or not. While I've not heard of any fatalities related to electrical play and piercings it's not to say that it couldn't potentially happen.

There are tons of materials for body jewelry that can be put in any piercing.......acrylic, titanium, PTFE, glass, plastic(wouldn't recommend plastic though, cheap crap).......horn, bone...oooh, not to mention they now sell round ends to barbells that are hollow with metal inside them that rolls around (I want that for my hood piercing!).  But yea, that one probably wouldn't be great with electrical play ;)
