tavinia -> Gloves that Lace Together (1/3/2008 11:17:47 PM)

Ages ago i read a D/s story (Exit to Eden, i believe) that included a description of a pair of non-leather, above-the-elbow, gloves that could be laced together.  I've searched a variety of "toy" sites and been unable to locate this type of glove in anything other than leather.  Does A/anyone have a source Y/you like?

Thank Y/you in advance for Y/your suggestions.

What material would you be looking for instead? Ebay's a good place too look, and there are probably latex and pleather options as well.

Ideally, i'd like to find either a soft kid leather or something more dressy, like satin... something that looks more like opera gloves.

hmm satin armbinders would be sexy as hell!

Hi there,

Stories often present beautiful sounding ideas for bondage equipment which can't actually be made with the materials they are professed to be made from. These opera-style gloves would probably fall into this category.

Basically, in this case, the problem boils down to the strain put on the fabric at the point where the gloves are laced together. Imagine eyelets in fabric being pulled apart by the strength of somebody's elbows taut behind the back flexing.

Leather (and thick rubber) works in the case of a single-sleeve glove becaus ethe eyelets are punched through two layers of leather, and lie at 90° to the angle of pull - ie, they're not being pulled outwards of the fabric - but having some kind of eyelets or rings being pulled outwards of the fabric - perpendicular to its surface - is a recipe for the whole device being torn to shreads the moment the bindee struggles, sneezes, burps, or indeed just breathes suddenly.

A product called bondage opera gloves exists - I have some in my collection - limited usefulness but they look great and are completely leather.

Hope this helps.

I would suggest as above doing a search of arm binders for style,  the ones I had used were leather but with less straps  and used lacing to create a snug fit up the arms (sorry does not show the lacing)  http://pixcastle.com/html/11520xuMOS/219513.html

I could see the possibility of what you want being custom made and do think it is possible actually, would not be much different then the stresses put on a  satin corset, so if you wanted something like what you described you may need to seek out someone highly skilled in custom corsetry to see if they would be interested in designing . though having pictures of a style of binder you like would be helpful in understanding what you want made
