Level -> US regulators set to approve cloned meat, milk (1/4/2008 5:03:58 PM)

The US Food and Drug Administration is expected to declare milk and meat from cloned animals and their offspring safe to eat as early as next week, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday.

The federal agency decision would come after more than six years of deliberation on the issue, the newspaper said, without naming its sources.

FDA spokeswoman Kimberly Rawlings told AFP that the food agency "is still working to finalize our risk assessment activities" and that it could not say when the process would be complete.

The FDA ruled in 2006 that milk and meat from cloned cattle, swine and goats were no different from healthy, conventionally bred animals, but has asked producers not to sell products from cloned animals pending a safety ruling.

They better put the "this is a cloned product" on the packages so we can decide if we want real or clone.  They also better not raise prices on the real stuff.

You seriously expect the food chain to remain uncontaminated?

When GM crops were first started there was protest about cross breading of natural and GM crops but who listened to us? Good luck with the meat I suppose in theory it will be easier to stops animals fucking one another but it depends on the farmer having ethics really don’t it? Those GM cows don’t really glow in the dark, so sooner or later one of them is going to lose track of one.

Further concerns center on the higher number of health problems that cloned animals tend to experience at birth, compared to conventionally-bred animals.

I wonder if these health problems some cloned animals experience at birth are the result of being cloned or perhaps issues of pregnancy in the animal into which those little mites were artificially squirted?  Maybe the donor-mom's body can't quite 'get it' that she's preggers till some period of time which might be critical to the embryo.

Thats why I advocate blowjobs, I shoot into your yap, you swallow, and there will never be a united nations conference or our little adolf in the history books.

We are defining and controlling history, (for our little bit at least) in bi-partisan fashion.
