Status: offline 		With all this election constantly on TV i had a thought.  Master and i belong to different parties, He is a demorcrat i am a republican.  Master would not make me vote for his canditate.  He would perfer it but he will not make it an order.

This is for other subs or Dom/es if they want to answer.  Would your Master ever order you to vote for someone you don't believe in?  For the Dom/es would you ever order your sub to do that?

Status: offline 		In my personal opinion, I believe that a slave is, first and foremost, a citizen of their country.  Removing political choice, for me, is a dangerous step towards asserting actual slavery (the kind where a woman might be chained to a 'massage' table for a decade.)  Taking on the role of a slave to an owner can only be done by an individual who is 'free' to do so.  Removing her political will, I think, carries serious risks.  I say this, because I take my own political will very seriously.  Obviously, if a person didn't care much about politics, then being told who to vote for would probably matter a great deal less.

For my part, I enjoy discussing politics with my slave.  If she can find fault with my logic or thoughts, then it helps me to grow as a person.  If I simply told her what to think or who to vote for, she would no longer be able to challenge my views, and could do nothing more to help me grow.

This is, of course, just my view.

Status: offline 		Specifically there would be no way I would do this for my Master. I am an active participant in politics so this thing would be very personal in nature and in order of that nature would not be about my devotion or level of submission but about the lack of respect he had for me personally on some level.

To me in general this gets to be a classic doormat question. If you want a submissive with an active mind that means blanket yes to all opinions and thoughts is not going to happen or you would even want that. Those differences sometimes have byproducts that need to be respected.

Status: offline 		This slave FORCED her Master to vote for the first time!

I was appalled when I discovered that my Master/husband had served his country as a United States Marine and had never voted! I have only missed voting in one election since I turned 18 on election day, and that was because I was in the hospital.

I am the more politically active one in the relationship and I know quite a few local politicians, so Master tends to ask me who and what to vote for.

This year, we are debating over who should be the Republican nominee, and since it looks like Duncan Hunter doesn't have a prayer, we are trying to figure out who to endorse.

Status: offline 		I know for a fact that my Sir would never FORCE me to vote in a particular way. But, we generally agree on most of our political veiws so it would never be an issue.

Status: offline 		I agree with most of what I've read here.  I would never presume to change someone's vote to my choice.  I am not all that political, so my choice may in fact not be the best one.  But, I do have a very strong sense of general philosophies I like (and don't) in a political figure, and most of what I don't like have been portrayed in recent years by one particular party.  Therefore, if I had a relationship with someone who was strongly in favor of that particular party, I would think twice about whether she was the right one for me on other counts, as well.

Status: offline 		My vote is my decision to make. He would never tell me who to vote for. We discuss politics in general as well as the different candidates. We have different opinions on some of them and as a result the conversations we have can be interesting.

Status: offline 		I hope folks don't mind me replying here but voting is a big deal in my house and so are politics.

Certain political philosophies are considered an immediate "no" when looking at potentials.

Voting is required if you join this household but who you vote for is your own damned business though we do freely discuss politics around this place.

Now if someone lied about their philosophies and party affiliations to get into this family, they would either need to change or much more likely they'd not last very long.

As long as politicians and some citizens feel the need to interfere in my personal choices, then I consider the political to be personal.

Status: offline 		Master wouldn't do that to me because politics are important and He knows how vital it is to change the way things are. Him and i both agree on much of the same things so it makes it easier but if Him and i ever get into a disagreement on logic/principle/thought He wouldn't punish me for it, instead just have a nice discussion about it.

Besides making someone vote for someone You don't want to is the same as throwing a vote away in my opinion.

Status: offline 		My dom and I have pretty much the same views on political issues although he is much much more aware of things than I am lol. That means he has no inclination to change what I think or how I vote. When I was married to T we had totally opposing views, I really thought that wouldn't matter. That young naivete that thinks love will conquer all. Well with me being a liberal democrat that is well educated married to a republican with little education or real knowledge of what being republican means it caused problems. Major ones.Therefore it is exceedingly unlikely that I would be involved again with someone that has divergent political views. There are some issues that are very very important to me and being with someone that opposes them just doesn't feel right to me. If my dom asked me to consider/research something that I had a different view from him on I would do so.

Status: offline 		honestly, i've never once discussed anything political with Daddy (or SO).  i tend to stay away from politics with them - so i don't think they'll order me to vote for their favorite candidate.

he is a rather political republican, and i am a fairly nonpolitical socialist. we discuss politics every now and then but rarely get in "debates" as such. i couldn't see him ordering me to vote for someone - it's just not likely something he would do - but i would do it if he told me to. he has control over everything when he chooses to exercise it means just that.

Status: offline 		Voting, to me, is more about a personal responsibility to society than a personal choice. An election is society asking each and every one of us what we think the best course of action is, and answering a certain way "because someone told me to" subverts that. As jaded as I can be about the political options available the integrity of the process is important to me. That said I do like to discuss the issues that would inform a choice like this, so chances are one of us would have influenced the other enough that we'd both vote the same way. The only thing that could ever cause me to vote against my concience is dirty elections where everyone is being forced to vote a certain way under threat of harm.
