RoughFN -> stores in the Chicago area? (1/9/2008 7:51:18 PM)

Does anyone have any stores to recommend in the greater Chicago area? Specifically I'd really love something in the north suburbs, up into southern Wisconsin, but anything around would be nice.

My favorite shop used to be the "Adult Books" store (with the generic yellow sign) up on I-94 around Kenosha. But I guess those shops got demolished. They had a great selection and it was wonderful to be able to go look at and try out things in person before buying them, as opposed to ordering online and hoping for the best.

But since they're gone, I don't know where to go. Any suggestions?

There is Black Market Chicago, The Alley, Pleasure Chest and some local dungeons have stires in them also

TabuTaboo has a little, but I would check out LeatherSport in Boystown.  Wait, are we talking clothing or toys?

I was talking toys. You never know how a whip is going to handle until you've tried it out. I've usually been happy with the ones I've ordered online, but have gotten a few duds.

Though clothing would be good to know, too.

Considering the scene in Chicago one would think there would be more to offer, but alas, no.  Concerning toys, if you can hold out a few months, wait for IML in May.  Last year they had three massive ballrooms of vendors.  We're talking the motherload.  It took my Sir and I hours to go through it, and we up picked everything from a violet wand to coloured bondage tape.  That's the week of Shibaricon as well, so you could make a trip of it.  I don't know how often you make it into the city, but occasionally there are other events that bring in vendors, such as the upcoming Sinsations in Leather,  but after IML, the twenty or so vendors at these events just seems a little sad.  If I hear of any smaller events or new stores opening up, I'll p.m. you.  Good luck in your search.

Note:  It's a three dollar donation to get into the IML event, but well worth it.  http://www.imrl.com/visitorguide/market.php

If you're looking for shoes or corsets, SkyHighHeels is the place to visit.

I still think that they are a number of shops on I94 around the border....Nothing better than buying some toys along the border and then trying them out on some fat chick at the Brat Stop or at Mars Cheese Castle.
