The personality theory I somewhat agree with. But I think the situation plays a role in the lack-of-rivalry behavior too. Subs are already just that - subs! They would be more likely to conform on command than someone in the vanilla world. That confirms the PERSONALITY aspect of the overall theory. In a Domme/sub situation where there are multiple subs, the Domme is exerting considerably more control over those who may be wanting to win her attention and respect than in the vanilla world, where there may be fighting over a potential mate. So the subs' actions are subdued. Also, in Domme/sub, a sub is not winning exclusivity of the Domme. Other subs are always there. A sub can only become a bit closer to the Domme, unlike in the vanilla world where there is the potential for a single winner of the desired person.
