I have started noticing some people have 20-30 "friends" now.
I am not going to boycott this feature, but too me...it reminds me of Junior High School.

When I was in Junior High School and High School, almost all my boyfriends went to
other High Schools.
I never dated boys at my school, because I did not need everyone in my school to know my
damn business.
Get the correlation?
I have 3 friends, and I might ad 1 more, but I think thats it for the "Friend" feature on here.

Anyone else feeling, is this Junior High School, again?

Why does it bother you? It is just a cute little feature. Do you count how many other friends other people have? I don't really look at that when I click on someone's profile. If I saw you had one friend, it would not make me think less of you in any way.

Oh no red, it does not bother me.
I like the feature, but some of these features are making
me think of things like "Secret Club" and Junior High School.

Just wondering what other people think about the feature!
I am not attacking the feature, I am just making a comment.
The feature is really "cute".

Do you remember Mr.Rodgers Neighborhood?

At the end he always asked, "Would you, could you, be my neighbor?"
This feature makes me think of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood.

MzMia, think of it like your address book for your email program.  It is just an easier way to Cmail people that you send messages to frequently.

Really there is no harm/no foul unless you keep thinking of it negatively.  And I think that the only reason that you may be doing this is that you cannot see a point to the program.

I don't really understand it, actually.  Maybe it's like Yahoo's 360 or something.

I think it just makes it easier to email your friends here rather than look than up, at least for me.

is in MY address book.

Just sayin'.

I think it's funny to get "friend" requests from people I don't know.  (don't know in the sense of no pm's, don't recognize from the message board).

I am wondering why the "loser mails" have not come with friends requests.  Those people that keep sending me the same email and I keep deleting it after the FIRST "no thank you."

Why do they want to submit, but do not want to be friends?

I accepted...

Why do they NOT want to be "friends"?
Because many of them don't want to be "friends", you are new here.

Some want to actually be friends, but many don't want to be "friends" only.
Most want to be "friends" with benefits.

Judgmental yet non-specific.  Lame way to dodge the Mods if you ask me.

MzMia, the reason you elicit negative responses is because you begin your posts with negativity.  The fact that you do this REPEATEDLY tells me you do it on purpose.  I think I'll stick with my initial "passive-aggressive" analysis of you from another thread.  People who want drama incite it.  People who want to argue make flagrant commentary to get their targets - then say something they think is witty and pat themselves on the back.  To avoid the hypocrite label, I'll pointedly say both the previous examples fit you to a tee, which can be deduced by anyone who takes the time to inflict themselves with your very callous commentary.  [Most want to be friends with benefits, indeed - did you take a poll and determine that from actual statistics, or make it up?  I'm not seeing a poll for it...just your as-ever vocal opinion.  Don't mislead by trying to make opinions look like fact, if you really want a reasonable conversation.]

The best way to deal with this is probably block, and I believe it's time for me to exercise that handy little widget...which is, like the Friends list, nothing more than a tool to be used as its user sees fit.  Applying an underlying motivation to a tool is like applying emotions to a goldfish, so in essence, you're just flaming the people who use it.  Drama and argument generation, all rolled into one.  Guess you couldn't resist.  Oh well.

And...like the other thread, I've posted all that is worth posting to this one, so I'll leave it at that.  The observations offered here are free, like the site, and possess whatever value you assign to them.

Yep, yep, this IS high school, at least this thread, subject matter, and the apparent boredom of some that try to incite flames...course I know I'm blocked cuz I extended an olive branch on another thread that was not taken.  Seems Lumus is right, some would rather smirk behind the safety of a computer screen.  Funny how those same people I imagine would react totally differently if they were in sight range.

edited to add: that was in no way directed at you Full Circle.
