i used to get migraines 4-6x a month, most likely as a result of having 7 severely screwed up cervical spine discs, which also affects my shoulders/arms/hands. ugh. so i'm absolutely a member of this club. i have found i'm most senstivite to barometric pressure changes (going way up or down quickly SUCKS!), and then after the weather changes, i'm better almost immediately. i've had ER visits, chronic pain clinic/specialists and all sorts of other things. one of the SIMPLEST, that worked wonders, was accupuncture on that fleshy part of my hand between thumb and forefinger. i had a really excellent accupuncturist, and i swear i went in to him in full-blown aura with nausea and muscle throbbing in my neck/shoulder (he could see it jumping) and 10 minutes of accupuncture, accompanied with some needle twisting at that specific point in my hand, and it was GONE. i've since learned where that point, and others on the top of my forearm, are...and can usually now avoid the worst of symptoms by doing accupressure myself at home. i sometimes need other people to do it for me (since one of my problems is hand strength, when i'm feeling awful i sometimes can't maintain a strong enough pressure on the point for 1-2 minutes myself). you should definitely consider both accupuncture, and accupressure. there are plenty of online resources as to where the spots are, just don't give up - give yourself the full time suggested to begin to feel results. also, has anyone else seen the dentists who are treating migraine now with ice/cold to the back of the mouth? (i saw it on a local abc news program a few years ago). good luck with finding your own migraine fixes, and don't stop searching until you find some relief - it's out there! ---p
