You found Your sub, everything is fine except for some reason she doesn't work. (no disability)  he/she is young and healthy.

You are not rich, but you end up paying for all her/his living expenses .  Which You really can't afford. She/he  does not live with you, so you are responsible for everything.

Do You think that this is a good situation for You? Would it ever cross Your mind that a healthy young person who doesn't work is just staying in a relationship with You, so that their expensives are all paid, or do You think that it's a fair trade for her/his submission to You?

In Your opinion what do You see positive about this situation and what do You see negative (if anything) about it.

Thanks

I would never begin a relationship with a submissive that was not employed, that could not support herself. Especially one that did not live with me and contribute anything of value to my home.

In all honesty it sounds more like a sugar daddy/momma with a mistress type arrangement. Not something I find appealing on many different levels.

Unless they are living with me and taking care of everything at home that needs to be done no way and even then I don't think so and if you can not afford it you sure as hell should not be doing it.

Didn't get the logic of that?

D you meed me to clarify anything or are You just refering to the situation?

Some owners prefer their property not to work, some do.  I serve my Master best by being as productive as possible.  As he has told me, "I'm not a fan of underachievement."  It pleases him most to see me work my ass off - and whether I am doing an assignment for him, at work, at school, writing my book, developing my skills and awareness, volunteering, or helping family/friends - it is all for him as it pleases him greatly.  The more accomplished I become, the happier he is.  It gives him a sense of pride, even if it wears me out, lol.

Whether a slave, house, or any acquisition;  NEVER get involved in a financial commitment which you can't afford.

Well, we do live together, but I do not work.
I attend school, take care of the um's, and attend to Him.
All could be considered full-time jobs. (except without the pay, the vacation, and the other bennies.*lol*)
Whenever I do work it always seems as if it 'inconveniences' Him somehow, so it's easier now just to do a little 'secret shopping' now and then, and sell my textbooks on Ebay.

Works for us, I guess.

in the op..the sub did not work....and lived in a separate residence, apparently....funded by the dom..........the scenario was one of a sugar-subbie. Living with some one and managing the day to day household activities is not the same to me

KatyLied -> RE: Would this ever cross your mnd? (1/15/2008 2:08:03 PM)

I don't think the dom would offer to pay for things he can't afford unless he really, really enjoyed what she's selling.  I wonder if she gives lessons....

Well you are getting what you want, she is getting a free ride.
Would I approve of it NO

DesFIP -> RE: Woul dthis ever cross your mnd? (1/15/2008 2:23:24 PM)

Not presently being employed does not mean not employable. The sub could have just finished a PhD and is taking six months off to recover. Or planning to retrain for a different career. Or rich in her own right.

Too many variables.

Oh yes definitely, but we are not refering to that type of person. There are always many good reasons why a person doesn't work, but the one we are talking about doesn't fall into that category.

CalifChick -> RE: Woul dthis ever cross your mnd? (1/15/2008 2:43:49 PM)

My submission doesn't have a price.

My other "skills"... negotiable.

Appeteazer -> RE: Woul dthis ever cross your mnd? (1/15/2008 2:45:19 PM)

We have what you could call a house sub/slave. She takes care of the house hold things because it is all she can do. She was involved in a major accident a while back. Before that she worked and paid her own way. The adjustment was made only because we do not know what she would do otherwise. Would we ever do this if she was not injured? Hell no, and yes she now lives with us.

She is very lucky to have all of you to help her. Thanks for sharing that with us.

The relation not beeing with you and therefor beeing responsible

I thought if he/she wouldn't be there, you are less responsible.

Maynard -> RE: Woul dthis ever cross your mnd? (1/15/2008 3:35:26 PM)

I agree with LT a 100%

And for the question that asks do I think that a person would stay in a relationship because all their expenses are paid? I think many people would find that a pretty good reason to stay in a relationship at least temporarily.  With all interpersonal-ships there are pay-offs and pay-ins.

Do I think the worth of submission equals the worth of a free ride? If we are going to put a price tag on this sort of thing, no.  Supply vs Demand, baby, and I'd be demanding a whole lot.... like getting a job!
