You give really sound advice, and i do appreciate you, and all that have taken the time to speak with me,
feels like a family !

VA funding is discretionary spending each year the Senate, Congress have to approve budgets, and then pass them. You are aware if the houses are controlled by one party that is how policies go, if they Are split 50/50 little gets done.   EMDR has been around for some time, but finding a clinician, therapist, Dr who is licensed to practice it is not easy in VA. If I was to go like to Bat Pine I am sure it would be common.   With the newest wounds coming back from Middle E. Traumatic Brain Injuries, PTSD Funding is turning due to all the negative news that has broken, such as Walter Reed.     On our group sites, men – women have literal horror stories of lack of care, treatment. With this newest story of Lance Corporal Maria Lauterbach USMC. She was the Marine that was raped, then murdered right before she testified. There is flak starting to raise over this now there is actions being taken. It literally sucks this is what it takes to get the attention of those passing laws ect.. I wrote the letter that went to the Senate Veterans Committee concerning this. I am still very angry, outraged is more accurate over this.   Sorry I got carried away. Veterans issues are a passion of mine.   Jim

Indeed Jim!  There is very much of a community here that is supportive of it's members and does feel like family to me as well.  The outpouring of support I've received here at times when I've needed it, such as of late when Tabitha became terminally ill and I had to put her down, has been more than I ever would have imagined!  This is a wonderful place that I'm proud to be a part of. [:D]

It occurred to me that you might also want to look into several other support groups which you may find helpful to you that I didn't think to mention earlier.  One is the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance which has support groups that meet throughout the country for those who suffer from depression  or manic-depression along with their families which you can find at http://www.ndmda.org/.  Hmmm... I can't seem to find links to the others I had in mind.  There's a 12 step group for Sexual Abuse Survivors with local meetings similar to AA; the problem usually being finding one that's open to men as a great many are for women only.

I suggest you Google "Male Rape Support" or something similar and you'll find there are a lot of links that turn up which you might want to investigate.  Here's one that looked like a good start: http://www.survivorsswindon.com/rape.htm that might lead to other resources such as http://www.pandys.org/.  I hope this is some help as I'd greatly encourage you to learn to talk about it with other men who've had similar experiences.  I found that to be a very useful part of desensitizing myself to the abuse I experienced; greatly helping to get me unstuck so I could begin to move on and begin to leave it behind many years ago.
