You'd also have to add the French if you really wanted to make that list accurate. Likely the Germans too, although they seem to stick to beating up Turks.

Of course, the United States and Israel are all that's wrong in the world. Cower in fear as you move freely about our streets, at the thought you could be arrested if you did something wrong (issues with our legal system aside, while worthy of discussion, I imagine they are more within the realm of a different topic), and know with certain dread you will have legal representation, and if not that ACLU and the entire American left will throw a hissy fit if you do not.

You do likely remain shit out of luck if captured in Iraq, or Afganistan. Then again, I'd have to question your motives for being there if you're not in uniform, or a contractor.

It's not a very good list anyway, Britain isn't on the list, nor is Belarus, the Ukraine, Russia, Bulgaria, Albania, Serbia, or Poland. Britain sends far more people to prison than any of the other EU member states and has a prison population more than the other states put together. Then you've got all the 'accidental' deaths in police custody.

Oh dear, I forgot, we're living in a free, democratic Europe after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

And of course Santa Claus really lives in Northern Finland. I know he does. His picture has appeared in the newspaper, so it must be true.

Stella two points here, firstly the thread is about torture not prison population. Are you saying torture is carried out in the UK ?
Secondly do you make your own figures up ? No way does Britain have a bigger amount of people in prison than the rest of the EU combined... If you think that you are delusional.

Yep, I think Stella was getting carried away. According to home office figures Britain imprisons between 40-60% more people per capita than other western European countries.
