My tendency would be to reply why are they so pathetic that they need to solicit random strangers for money?

Don't thay have thier own, or do they just get off on being parasites?

You overlook the fact that there are two types of women asking for tribute on here. Firstly there are those that are just after a quick buck. Secondly there are those who have well equipped premises, years of experience, and offer any clients who wish to pay the chance to fulfill a fantasy. It may not be to your taste but why be so judgemental. Surely its up to everyone in this lifestyle to live it as they wish.

It does not matter.

A TOS violation is a TOS violation.

And it leaves one extrenmly vulnerable, as any pissed off male sub can report you for prostitution-or sick the IRS on you for doing it.

And also remember this- in a post 911 world, electronic transfers can be traced back to the account holder. And the next sub that comes knocking to pay you a "tribute", may well be an FBI agent. And if that money does not get reported, you are FUCKED-and not in good ways,

Refer to the "outed mistress" thread in alternative lifestyles in the news  section if you do not believe it cannot happen. She was here doing "business" too.

And when a crack down comes, they don't seperate wolves from sheep-they just take EVERYONE not in legal compliance.

But that wasnt what you posted. I happen to agree with the above that its against the TOS. All im saying is there is a big difference between offering a service and soliciting cash as a scam.

Well drug dealers are offering a service too? Right? So do prostitutes. Just because you are offering a "service" doesnt make it legal.

And like I said...and no pro-domme will answer this question....is there a pro-domme out there that reports this as income on their tax returns? Obviously not. Yet Im supposed to consider it a "business."

The issue is that tax fraud is illegal.
Call it a business when you can open your books to an auditor and survive.

It's just another *criminal activity* if you cannot.

Point taken.....Surely that can apply to anyone who does work for you though. Car mechanic, builder, whoever ?

Yes, but they can be prefectly legal with no fear-unlike someone the law may decide to link to prostitution. Ever wonder what happens to the clients when law enforcement goes after these women, and seizes thier little customer books? Computers, etc?

Think it won't get back to the WIVES, that thier husbands have been spending so much money on a HOOKER?

Unless you live in a barter economy, very rare these days especially those those of us on this board -- I'm betting you didn't a batch of cookies or a bolt of wool for your computer and the time online -- of course it takes money,

Life takes money.

Also, in our society, many things aren't seen to have real value unless someone charges for it. Knowledge, for example. For some, putting a price tag on something automatically makes it seem more valuable. How many people would believe me if I said I had a FREE cure for cancer...yet people will pay thousands of dollars on a possible cure.

I don't know many male subs who are into paying 300 bucks for a session with a cookie or a sweater-do you?

Goodness, what language!  Hookers, hm?  Quote me some statutes, sugarpie.  There are a few states where BDSM activities in exchange for money are specifically noted on the law books.  Most states, however, very specifically define sex acts that do not include bondage, spanking, flogging, crossdressing or just about any other thing that most pro dommes consider part of the job description.  I can provide the precise statutes that apply to my state that make it very clear what prostitution is.  Can you say the same?

I'm more likely to believe that 10 bucks is just a person with a money kink who wants to see if that will be met and got pissy when turned down, as many do.

Of course, i have no idea why someone would demand 10 bucks or any other amount of money from someone online but, as far as the idea of a money kink goes, i have to admit that i have one, of sorts, although not the sort that some people might think.  It's fun when i get 'paid' for 'services rendered' to my Master.  And, the less money i get, the more i like it.  i have never been paid more than a dollar and usually it's a quarter or less.  It's just a fun little twist to what i would be doing, any way.  It makes me feel like a cheap whore, really cheap.[;)]

I've seen/heard this from very experience people in the greater kinky community who are routinely asked to do workshops and give lectures. Everyone either wants you to do it for free or they chase those few who charge thousands per appearance. Anything in between tends to cause folks to look at you funny.

Nah! Good thing you didn't pay. She was probably just after some easy money. I find this lifestyle is an easy way out for some girls who need easy money. The sad thing is that I'm sure it works. With some at any rate.

So no, I don't think BDSM requires money. I have nothing against pros, as long as they're genuine Dominas and offer a real service. Again, not just a girl posing for easy cash.

I guess you have to be careful. Though, if anybody should wish to send Me 10$, please feel free! lol!!!

MadRabbit -> RE: Does BDSM Require Money? (1/26/2008 10:39:13 AM)

It sounds to me like someone on the Internet just wanted $10.

When someone replies back with an immediate request for money, my initial reaction would be "Wow...some ass is trying to rip me off."

There is a whole host of people who try and rip you off in everyday life.

I don't see why 4 pages of generalizations, misogynist statements, arguments over Pro Fem Dommes, and rants about how the lifestyle is all going down hill is needed because some douche on the Internet wanted ten bucks.

Does everything have to be so deep and cultural? Why can't it just be "Some douche on the Internet wanted $10"?
