LOOLOL Okay i'm strange. Master got me the 2 qt bag at the store today (WOW thats alot water going in). i felt abit light headed with a tummy ache. Is this normal? Oh and ummmmm.. How many times do you need to do it to make it all come out the same way it went in? And holding it in for 15 minutes or so seems impossible at the moment. Though i know its what one is supposed to do.. So any questions on how i can make it possible.

GEEE this is almost embarressing as Master hanging the bag from the review mirror as we drove home.

lightheaded with a tummy ache? Ans: nope, not normal. suggestion, water must be at your body temp or will cause cramping. Try breathing exercises to ensure your not over/underbreathing causing the lightheadidness, will help you relax.

How many times: if your arse is full of shit, it will take some cleaning. If youve had regular bowel movement in last hour, it'll be cleaner. Common sense. Bare in mind, your bowel is lined with a mucus membraine, it will absorb water during enema's, you can knock your electrolytes out with enema's and the body can go into shock.

Either gradual increase in volume, or gradual increase in holding time would be a nice way to ease someone into enema play, hanging the bag from the rear view mirror, increasing quantity and time is just plain Dom gluttony- enjoy

If you're using large volumes of water you need to make a saline solution (google and you should find directions). Using tap water will cause an electrolyte imbalance which may account for your light headedness and nausea. What happens is the water you're absorbing does not have the sodium concentration that your body fluids do normally so the body pulls sodium from other places trying to even out the imbalance and you could experience hyponatremia (read about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyponatremia)

As far as cramping when you do an enema (not related to fluid overload) it's a good idea to hang the bag no more than 18 inches above the rectum, if it feels as though it's going in too fast simply lower the bag and gravity will slow the flow, raising it increases the flow obviously. You can also shut off the clamp when you start to feel a cramp and merely remain still until you can start the flow again (this is what we do with patients) a good position for administering an enema is lying on your left side with your right leg bent up toward your chest comfortably. Above all relax and only hold the enema as long as you can take it. Also bare in mind that the fluid is traveling through the many bends and curves of your internal plumbing so when you do expel it may not all come out at once. Often it will take a while to work its way back out and then you can continue to re-administer until the fluid is coming out clean. Hope this was of some assistance to you.

Have fun!

~Ms. A~

**Edited to add that temperature is important as well - too cold and cramping is a given and too hot you'll damage your rectal mucosa. Aim for body temperature and bare in mind what feels warm to your fingers feels hotter to your more sensitive parts like the mucosa.**

Has anyone ever heard of olive oil enemas to keep the colon from being irritated and especially after a soap enema? I read about it somewhere but now I don't recall where and wondered if anyone else had every heard of this.

Feline: Soaps can be used but generally in very small amounts and generally mild in nature.

By the way I love that part in "Dracula: Dead and Loving it"

http://www.sexuality.org/l/fetish/enemafaq.html

Here's the alt.sex enema FAQ list - It has some basic information and suggestions except I don't recommend EVER using alcohol...I'm very against this type of enema and it is listed.

i just bought an enema to surprise Master with. When we play in the Bum region.....sometimes....well, ya know.....it gets a little messy. So i thought what a great solution to this problem would be to give myself an emema. Well Master is concerned that they are not safe. So we have not used it yet. i want to ask my doctor but (hate to admit it) i'm a little shy about it. How safe are enemas?

enemas are totally safe when used correctly (ie correct volume, ingredients and temp.)

For the way that you would use them nonuts4thshoney, they are quite safe. Certain soaps (and certain quantities) should be avoided since they are irritating, but there is nothing wrong with using a mild soap solution, a saline solution or just filtered water.

Nelbot mentioned olive oil being used. I have never seen it used personally, but whenever I have seen it used, it was injected first, held for 30 minutes to and hour (then either expelled or the next solution added on top.) Then it would followed with several (3+) soapy ones.

Never seen it used after... I would think it would give me user after effects for quite a while since the colon isn't exactly used to oil.

Thanks All.

Hey, I’m new to collarme and one of the first discussions I saw is on enemas, a favorite topic. So here’s my two cents. Enemas are safe, they’ve been used for at least a hundred years, with a few provisions. MisA is definitely right, if you’re using large or multiple enemas you should add salt, not doing so could contribute to that light headed feeling. and some cramping is normal, to help it you might also try massaging your stomach in a counter clockwise motion. This is supposed to help move the water along. If you’re tring to expel, reverse it and massage clockwise. I’ve also given olive oil enemas, great before anal play, if you give them a quart or as much as they can comfortably hold it’s a great lube, and you won’t have to worry about relubing during play. Although you need to rinse with several soapy enemas afterward or that oil will continue to leak out. I think they usually recommend a mild soap like dove.
