I've experimented with urethral insertion and found it to be very enjoyable. I was wonderin if anyone had some tips on urethral dilation. Tools, techniques, safety.....

The obvious choice, if it were me, would be urethral sounds.  They come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, vibrating and not.  Catheters might be something to look into, as well.  This isn't really an area of interest to me, so my knowledge of technique and safety points are less than up to snuff.  Good luck.

As always, YMMV...

Use Sterily KY jelly.  Make sure your sounds are sterilized perperly.  And NEVER force a sound into the uretha.  Let its own weight compell it downward.  If it doesn't want to go down, then you have gone a size too much.

Once inserted be careful not to overdue pressure from the outside from masturbation or vibrators.  They are fun to use with them just be careful not to apply to much pressure.

A slight pinish color may come out with your orgasm or urination right after.  This is fairly normal.  Just drink lots of water and all should be fine by next day.  If heavy bleeding occurs and doesn't stop...GO DO DR.  If burning continues for more than 2-3 days afterwards GO DO DR.

Other than that... Have Fun!!

sounds are amazing [:)] always thought that was a exit only hole ..boy i was wrong once my mistress did sounds on me [:)]the vibrating ones are the best i think but either way watching the sounds slowly slide into you until its all in can be very erotic indeed [:)] catheatres can be fun to ..love a lady in control ..thought it would have been painfull but it was not ..just the opposite i thought ...my lady has played with and taken all the holes i have ..must say it can be fun [:)] mal

Urethras don't stretch back like vaginas or rectums do. Just a little somethin somethin to keep in mind.
Sterility, also good.

Saw a demo earlier this month and learned a great deal about playing with them which had never occurred to me! [:D]

Try applying various vibrators to the exposed end of them for increased sensation.  You can also do temperature play with them as well.  Use ice or heat applied to one end and see how that feels!  Ditto for applying tuning forks to them after having struck them on another surface. [8D]

The Domme who put the class on was very experienced and is on this site, but rarely visits the boards.  I had previously thought something such as surgilube was required.  She said any good water based lube was a good choice so long as plenty of it was used.  I was surprised to learn that, but she's been doing it for many years.

The Hegar slightly curved sounds (single ended dilators actually) are a good choice for beginners as they're easier to insert.  I you want to stimulate the prostate, then you'll eventually want to try the more curved french sounds.  I wouldn't recommend starting with the latter.

You'll want to get a 16 psi pressure cooker to sterilize them with.  The best overall starting place to learn about their use is www.chaseunion.com/documents/urethra/sounds.htm.  I hope you find the link useful. [&:]

i'm afraid that you were given some questionable advice. i do not want to say that you were given misinformation, perhaps that has worked for the Person that was holding the seminar. plenty of lube is needed, for sure. but using any old lube is a very bad idea. i am clinically trained in invasive procedures, and i would NEVER use anything except sterile lube. your instinct was right 100% on that one.
i get blister packs because i don't even use the same tube on different people.
the urethra is a passageway to the bladder, and the bladder must remain sterile at all costs. using plenty of lube that has some sort of foreign material in it could cause an infection. using lube with any sort of color/scent/flavor can cause irritation and infection as well.
it is easy enough to get surgilube.
use it for this type of play ALWAYS.
sterilize the implements ALWAYS.
change gloves anytime they touch anything that isn't perfectly clean. sterility is ideal, but most P/people don't play that way.
i do create a sterile field if i am going all the way, as in bladder control. i would never knowingly catheterize someone without following strict sterile technique.
an ounce of prevention...
and thank you for the link, it went a long way in answering the question posed. i understand that the nickname "the clap" comes from the blockage caused by gonorrhea, that the shaft needed to be clapped to forcibly eject the infected material.
historically, as in before ultrasound, i believe that sounds were also used for measuring the uterus.
