WONDERING
How does he sleep at night
Is he haunted by nightmares
Or does he sleep like a baby?
He charms the women
he meets with sweet endearments
winning their trust and giving their love.
As he grows weary of one
she is cast aside
but there is always another waiting
for he cannot be alone.
His lies disguised as silken promises
build a false sense of security
as their trust in him grows.
As time goes by and they
languish
waiting for his call
the discovery is made
that he cannot say goodbye
but he leaves them
waiting
wondering
hoping
for a sign
that he still cares.
