I am a masochist and submissive and happy with that part of myself. I simply am going through a really terrible time in my life, where after 2 years in love with an manipulator he left me for another woman. I am really having a hard time day to day, and come from a family history of strong bipolars. If this is a down swing I need to stop it right now!

I am interested in going to a councler or therapist, my insurance will cover it, but how do i work through feelings that include my BDSM lifestyle, how do i find a therapist who will not freak out, or waste my time? I live pretty far north in Washington, almost 2 hours north of seattle. I have had years and years of thereapy, and run into a few bad apples, but that was in a diffrent state and before I found my joy in this lifestyle. Does anyone know how to find people in my area or how to screen the list of a hundred my insurance gave me?

That link might help you find a kink friendly therapist in your region. Good luck to you, hope that helps!

Your town has a great lifestyle group,    http://www.triskeli.org  they may be able to help.
I live even more north of you.. small town, known for churches, and nice lawns...;)

You can call the therapist and do a quick interview on the phone before setting up an appointment. Find out what their qualifications are ie CSW or clinical psychologist, and ask about their knowledge of alternative sexuality.
