Iv spent the last few hours looking thou the switch threads, and I have found that i don't match any one else in my switchy-ness, and i am now wondering if I'm not some thing else.
so heres what i meant when i said i was a switch, and if some one could correct me if I'm wrong id be muchly appreciative.

i said i was a switch because i hold to neither sub or dom. I'm 50% one and 50% the other, and i don't prefer any gender, or time of day, or any thing like that I'm just sometimes dom and sometimes sub. Iv had quite a few different partners of differing genders and preferences and i just seem to always be the same fluid flip/flop, sub sometimes and dom others with no real decernable reason or rime to it.

so am i a switch or something else??

Forget all those labels.
Be what you are, be free, have fun, try every single thing you like .And if switch means "free" then you are switch.
Be a sub, be a domme, be an angel, be the devil, be everything you want to be.

Seems to me that describes switch very well indeed.

I've been sticking to the term switch while I found the top aspect a little daunting...at first.
I'm embracing my "inner domme" at this point, but that doesn't slow me down from switching.

And when it comes to energy exchange, having my partner eat me out while I flog him
(gee, long arms are good for something beside cold wrists!) thoroughly...whee.

The last thing you want nor need.... is for someone to to *tell* you what you are.

No you are exactly that...a switch..some are different levels of dominant and submisive..I am also 50 /50 ..some people think a switch is someone who is Dom or sub and sometimes goes the other way...I am not like that...I am always both...deonsing onthe moment etc...I have a hard time with relationships because Doms can handle the constant switching...I will never be a 24/7 sub or Dom..it love being both ...its what I am

So enjoy it...go with it..what ever it is you feel...and dont worry about what everone else thinks...

you fit my definition of a switch.

for me: I am mostly dominant. unless someone has the ability to make me want to submit to them while also making me feel safe enough to actually want to do so. not an easy task. also one that I very rarely seek out. by somes definition that still makes me a switch as well. though by my own definition i don't identify as one.

definitions are very fluid and adaptive in this community. we live very much in a grey area.
so find what works for you and don't worry about it so much. sometimes in teaching and learning about BDSM the personal aspects of it get pushed to the back burner.

Thank you all for all the input. I'm glad I'm not the only one who's 50/50 , but at the same time even if i was the only one who was 50/50 id still be happy with myself. i love being what i am i just wanted to make sure i wasn't using the wrong term, and its very good to know I'm not.

so thank you.

I've always believed switching meant being a Dom when you want to be a Dom, and being a Sub when you want to be a sub. But admitting that you can be either one depending on how you feel. Most of the Dom's and Dommes I've meet even switch now and again. Really a switch is openly admiting your open to either side of D/S.

I think you fall for a person rather than a label. 'Labels' constrict and surely the whole point of healthy sexuality and relationships is freedom to be and do what you feel is right.

Agreed BigEye's (and lovely eyes BTW)

I've been trying to figure this out for sometime, and I think the lable Switch is in it's purity, the absence of lables. It's different for all of us. I've tried to figure out what it means to me, and it comes down to this.

If you are a Domme, and we are talking, treat me like a Dom... We can worry about you ordering me around when it's play time.

If you are a subbie, and it's the same situation, treat me like a sub.... We can worry about how well you obey when it comes time to play.

Now I'll go either way, depending on the partners preference, and if they can treat me as an equal, first. (ofcourse there also has to be attraction.) But thats just what switching means to me, and because I am a switch, it means I could be extremely different from every other switch in the world.

And that last little statment, is one of the true beauties of being a switch.
