yeah to me it's pretty pathetic......i dont agree with it and never will.

Topping isn't a job, it's an act and not one that is worth money or a price....

I'm sure that's going to piss alot of people off but, I'm not sure that I actually care either.  I work my ass off everyday, and so do many others on this site, You dont see Dom males going Pro and you definitly dont see subs and slaves going Pro now do you?  Who the hell do these women think they are?  You might as well call it prostitution in an x rated sense.

~meticulous~

That whole "this is going to piss people off but I don't care" is interesting.  If it's about a gender, race or religion, people will be a bit more guardedly bigoted. When it comes to sex workers, all kinds of prissiness and judgments and totally off-the-mark conventional wisdom is fair game.

It's so admirable of you to stand right up and say that you think sex workers are bed people.  Wow!  You're a kinky pervert, sure, and can get busted for the things you do in just about any state, what with BDSM acts not being recognized as legal anywhere, but at least you know what's right, and the pro thing is just not right.  No WAY.

Well, good for you.  You've made your stand and that's a beautiful thing. Go, free speech!  You may want to check your facts a teensy bit, though; there ARE males who go pro.  One works for me.  There are others out there, although they're rare. There are also subs and switches who go pro.  And every one of us works are asses off at our jobs.   And yeah, you MAY as well call it prostitution, but I think you'll find, while you're checking some of these teensy facts, that there are very few states that include any type of BDSM activity as prostitution.   Yes, it's sex work, but it isn't illegal.  Calling it prostitution would be as accurate as calling it stripping or baseball.  Job descriptions are not the same.

Casting aspersions on a marginalized group is so much fun.  Don't let me stop you.

I'm noticing it's pretty much only the pros doing protesting about thier nobility in this thread.

Interesting-but predictable. Might scare off clients.

You are right upfront about being pro.  It sounds like, especially from the OP, that honesty is lacking in other cases.

RedMagic1 -> RE: money (2/4/2008 7:00:28 PM)

Tracy, I know you're new to this whole thing, so I hope nobody jumps on you.  This is a hornet's nest that has been stirred up again and again and again.  There are many pros on this site with profiles that are 100% legit.  Either they mention that they only session for money up front (often using the word "tribute"), so it is completely clear, or the purpose of their profile is to attract friends, a potential life partner, etc.  Professional Dominants have a life beyond their jobs.  Many people don't make that connection.

It is true that there are scammers on this site -- people who claim to be looking for a long-term relationship up front, then try to get you to send money once you talk to them for a while.  I've received such contacts myself.  But that is a small percentage of the total active profiles, and according to scamtracking web sites there are many more fake profiles on Yahoo Personals than on smaller sites like CollarMe.

kitttty -> RE: money (2/4/2008 7:10:01 PM)

I charge because I can.

Hell, I more than can. I charge because I have to do *something* to filter guys out. There are too many of them and they all want to serve!

If I were looking for a relationship, I would discern based on relationship potential. But I'm not, so- well, I don't charge per se, I just have them do chores and errands and take me shopping.

Well, so at least you admitted it IS a personal vendetta against me for personal reasons. I see no reason to even respond to your garbage in this or any other thread - it's a waste of peoples' time to read, since your only purporse is to discredit me - that's very selfish of you. You see no submissives coming around here complaining that I have mislead or mistreated them. You should focus on your own relationships instead of working so hard to discredit mine. Good luck finding happiness. I'll be on my merry way.

Could you be any more dramatic or sensational here? Keep this up, and you'll remind everyone of Clay Davis in THE WIRE.

Thanks for think of me, RedMagic.  I'm too old to be very new at anything.  [:)]
I'm not surprised that CollarMe has less of that type of scamming than other sites.
My main intent was to speak in favor of prostitution, or any other means of making
a living that supports a person without harming anyone else.  I also wanted to
acknowledge the sense of betrayal that I read in the OP.

And if someone jumps on me for it, I'll respond nicely or rudely or not at all, depending on my mood.  [:D]

There's no reason for me not to be up front.  I was up front about being a social worker when I did that, too.  I was up front about being a secretary at a law firm in my younger years, but I must admit there was some shame with that one since I had to work with lawyers.  [;)]

I'm afraid I don't know what you mean about honesty being lacking with other pro dommes.  None of the pros I know who participate on these boards try to hide anything.  There are profiles set up for scammers, but those are pretty obvious if people know what to look for.

As is often the case with your posts on this subject, and you certainly are fascinated with pro dommes, the pissiness is evident in your tone but your actual message is less clear.

Like it or not and call us all the nasty names you want, but we're part of the BDSM/leather community, we're not going away, and your insistence that we're all devoid of ethics (who's got that market cornered these days, anyway? maybe you?) is so much digital noise.  We do what we do and those of us who are hard-headed enough to participate in boards like this and deal with constant, unrelenting negative comments from people like you will continue to correct your amazingly inaccurate misperceptions until we either get bored, finally get a moment of clarity on the utter futility of trying, or just get way too busy making money doing the wonderful things we love to do and are good enough at to get paid for.

Just making sure you are counting this non pro sub.

SweetDommes -> RE: money (2/5/2008 8:09:13 AM)

I have no problems with Pros - it's a service that is needed and they supply it.  So please count this non-Pro into your calculations, Leatherist.

To the OP - grow up, get over your attitude problem, and you MIGHT be able to attract yourself a decent Domme.  In the meantime, for the profiles that you see that you don't like, there is this wonderful thing called a "hide profile" button so that you don't have to look at profiles that you aren't interested in.
