The idea that D/s is more prevalent in kinky relationships really is rubbish.
Most of the people I know live in a D/s realtionship of sorts.
Doesn't make them kinky.
Although I also think more people are kinky than we think.
Depending on your definition of kinky of course.
If your both happy in your relationship why worry what anyone else is doing?
Not having the opportunity to actaully do the things we fantasise about is the real worry.
It can make some people ill or take more risks than is sensible.
I'm not sure if talking about them makes it better or worse.
On the whole I think it makes it better for me.
Doing can spoil the fantasies or create new ones.
If your aim is to be happy in your relationship and you have achieved that then that's all that matters.

No your not alone, not everyone has to practise BDSM in a M/s or Ds context and yes, kink isn't BDSM, but BDSM can be a kink for some people.

Okay, we're bondage freaks. And I enjoy a light/moderate spanking. Other than that, we're the most unkinky people you've ever met. But except for a couple of areas we negotiated about, he has the final say.

That does not translate into him barking orders all day and night. It does mean "Honey, could you run this errand for me?" and getting "I'd be glad to" as an answer. Not very d/s, is it? No "Yes, SirMasterDreadedOverlord", just cheerful agreement. Nobody looking at our relationship would assume he makes all decisions, Because he doesn't, since he knows there won't be any arguing over minor things for no good reason, he doesn't feel the need to hoard all power. I actually get asked more about what I would like than I did in my vanilla marriage, where power plays were quiet and continual.

When people look at us, what they see is a couple who are happy together, who are respectful of each other, who enjoy making each other happy, who enjoy each other's company and who, after nearly five years, still hold hands most of the time.

My and my master are in a BDSM free master/slave relationship and it seems like we are the only ones.

Every now and there there is a line that I can't get past due to grammar, meaning or something. This combines all of the problems. It makes me wonder if there are not more serious concerns like counting change, writing checks and knowing how to ride public transportation.

LOL.  That seems right to me.

Yes, I've heard of these strange relationships. People who live together and one is bossy, the other one obeys and they engage in sexual practices. It's called a relationship. Vanilla people don't just lie there and do the starfish position. They do move occasionally. And sometimes even get a lil funky.

soda out the nose OUCH!!
