ORIGINAL: Eruditus Pregnancy and BDSM...hmm....surely there are screaming throngs of women who assert that the two terms are synonymous. One pregnant poster said she wanted to serve. Well, my opinion is that she should serve her baby. If she's feeling any submissive urges, let them be directed toward her child. If she smokes, she should stop. Ditto if she drinks. And it would be dumb to allow BDSM-style talk to occur in her presence, because you better believe that baby will hear. Also, the submissive who is pregnant needs to know that her baby will be affected by her hormone levels, by the proteins in her blood. Even her neurotransmitters (which are themselves basically hormones modified to serve mental functions) ultimately affect her child. Why bias the baby in favor of BDSM thus? Why people the fetus's formative months with panting, foul-mouthed ogres? Like it or lump it, folks, there is a lot--and I do mean a lot--of mental aberration that BDSM attracts. Pregnant enthusiasts should beware attracting that energy into their orbit. While i do agree with the points regarding smoking and drinking, please get educated on what occurs in a woman's body during pregnancy before you start making assumptions as to what neurotransmitters and hormones "do" to an unborn child. "Like it or lump it" people DO have sex (panting) while pregnant and, BDSM does not equate "foul mouthed ogres". I happen to have a KINK FRIENDLY doctor who has ASSURED me that minor play and participation in my chosen lifestyle will not, in any way, harm my baby. *edited for "clarifying" punctuation*
