I think people would be suprised about failure rates. My aunt at an ectopic pregnancy in her 40's (she almost bled to death before they figured out why she was bleeding), 10 years after having a tubal ligation. I don't understand the surprise that someone could find themselves with an unplanned pregnancy, it happens regardless of occupation.

Using FR... Just a note.......birth control worked 0% for me..... Two pregnancies both while on birth control that was SUPPOSED to be 99.9% effective. Not bloody likely. That being said...... unless one chooses abstinence or abortion, you've got a good chance of pregnancy. Then, you just deal the best you can. I had two kids and a tubal ligation promptly following the birth of the second when I was 18. Not all of life can be wrapped up in nice clean pretty little packages that are easy to define. It is very easy to argue a case when it does not involve you personally. Sometimes I find the cruel attacks and downright immature bitchiness on this board disgusting. Not that I am complaining mind you, it really does help clear the field in knowing who I would want to meet if the opportunity ever should arrise.

Nothing is so effective that, IMHO, you can judge someone without actually knowing their situation. Some men who have gotten the power line snipped have found themselves shooting live rounds.

The percentage rate of birth control was not the point of the post. So the percentages don't matter. the point of the post was. There is no excuse for not using birth control in the first place. i said that the only unplanned or unwanted pregnancy should only happen when birth control fails. Where did i say that if you use birth control you will never get pregnant?

You made an assumption and ran with it, again, in an accusatory and negative tone. Re-read her post. She stated she was IN LOVE. She expected him to be there and he turned into an ass and left. So, now, she's left to deal with the consequences. I read between the lines and i see hurt, anger and frustration. She knows she has a long road ahead of her. We are our own worst critics. It's very easy to have a "personal opinion" of what may, or may not have, taken place. Where TACT comes in is keeping that personal opinion to oneself and actually offer up ADVICE that is sound and may help instead of attempting to verbally beat her about the head for what YOU see as "irresponsible" behavior.

My two cents and then I shall let it go.Like many have stated in this day and time with birth control available any where you look there is no excuse for a surprise pregency...I have seen owners continue to have unprotected sex,get the slave knocked up and when shes ready to pop then plant them on the doorstep of some charity hospital and on about his business. IN my many years in this LS,I have seen many similar story's,A naive girl stuck with no where to turn,A jack leg master leading her down the dummy path.....bounty

Ok... so alot of those posts really really hurt... Yes i say its unfortunate.. not because of the child because of the circumstances.. I thought i was in vanilla love but he ended up being nothing but a liar and a fraud. Try being a single military woman who finds out she is pregnant and he bolts quicker than lightning. Try being bareley able to survive on your own with what the military pays.. now im worried about a child... try being told oh yeah now your preg... you gotta move off base...... deal with that... its not cheap to live in hampton roads.. well it is if you want to live in an unsafe area. Why does everyone tell me to take a step back.... why should i back down? obviously your all here.. and to takenbyjon... go off and screw yourself... This is my decision. I came here to ask for advice not to hear crap from you.. Most everyone else has been very kind.. Imagine someone who finds her first.. (yes first....) love gives her prize of virginty.. stays with him.... and a month later.. gets pregnant he is is gone.. dissappered.. and when you find out then everytihng he said is a lie.. wouldny you say thats unfortunate? freaking assholes.. well said! way to stand for yourself! Bounty .. all of that is true ... but sometimes .. we are not told " the rest of the story " that is held back by players that have no stake in this other than to stir the pot., and they are not always the OP
