I am interested,

of those of you here that identify as a, 'D ' type and you bottom now and again, why do you do this?

Is it a form of personal experimentation, a see how it feels scenario?

Or a desire to please another?

Or is there another reason?

As for me, I enjoy letting the.dark top me because while I get a huge amount of pleasure and satisfaction from asserting my dominance and being all masterful, I also love the delicious things that she does to me when she tops.

I'm always amazed that people are so thrown by the idea of switching from time to time. Am I the only one who thinks it's not that big a deal?

To me, it's about chemistry. While the majority of people I come across don't have the personality required to top me, I don't mind doing a submissive scene with the few who do. When I originally started on my path, almost three years ago (time flies!), I thought of myself as a sub, because that was the role I played with the man I was with. After I stopped playing with just him though, I realized that I could actually only submit to particular individuals... and a Domme was born.

It's sort of like how you react differently to people in your vanilla existence: my mother can get away with saying things to me that a co-worker could not, because they occupy different spaces in my life.

I truly love Guiding my submissive through a scene. but every now and then I just say "why do they get all the fun"

sometimes it purely a sensation bottom thing. sometimes its a Demobottom thing(giving them a person to practice on)

sometimes I'm just bored.

VERY VERY VERY VERY rarely theres the perfect storm of the situation. how comfortable I am feeling at the moment and the right person there who can throw me into SubSpace(and not pull me out of it by doing something stupid) it has only happened a handful of times. Hell I think I would want to Sub more if i could figure out the pattern to making it happen more often... as it stands. I'm happy being the dominant that I am.

To me, there is a distinct different between a Dominant masochist, and a switch. With a switch, there is potential for them to Dominate, or submit. With Dominant Masos, they may like to get topped, but they are still in charge of the scene,the dynamic, whathaveyou. One time I saw a Domme get her ass beat by her boy with a couple a floggers. she would say harder,faster,etc. pretty hot scene.

For many people, switching is not the same at being a dominant who bottoms. It's two different scenarios.

it makes you human - top or bottom we all have aggressions that need to be released one way or another - your method sounds good - as long as you're prepared for the consequences (but then again, it may be the consequences you're desiring)

I like to bottom sometimes because it feels good and I find it can be very relaxing. I am not submitting or giving up my Dominance in anyway, I am guiding him through the scene as to how I want it to go. My sub knows how to use implements and so I don't have to worry about him hurting me. We've been together long enough that he knows how I like things to go. Its all good fun.

I cannot imagine bottoming simply because I have no interest in those sensations and would actually, have a very negative reaction to some of them.

Since a few have mentioned submitting, I've yet to meet a person that could put me in that headspace to even consider it.

That is how I look at it... I can bottom, but I don't follow directions well and tend to get a little "prickly" when someone thinks they can push bottoming into something else.

As far as why I would do it, I am a sado/maso and I like my bit of pain sometimes. This doesn't mean that just anyone can top me, I am more picky about who tops me than about who I top. Generally speaking, it would have to be a very very good friend who does the topping or my pet switch.

I've thought about that. Topping is a lot of work (looks like it anyway) and the bottom is like a passive recipient. It seems unfair somehow.
