...switching?

I've been a lifelong Republican....but I'm considering, for the first time, switching camps this year.

I don't give a fuck if you like Obama or Hillary....just curious if you're a previous hardliner...and now you're shifting your views.

(And if so...why?)

I'm hardly a 'hardliner' Republican, Gris, but if Huckabee winds up on the ticket, I would cast a vote for Hillary first.

I'm a rather middle-of-the-road Republican - more of an Independent, really.  I'm having a hard time figuring out who the hell I want to vote for.  I voted in the primary today for Romney, but it's really just b/c Huckabee scares the crap outta me (so incredibly right wing) and McCain doesn't fit some of my ideals.  It didn't really matter - McCain was going to win my state (NJ), but I really do find myself at a bit of a loss.

Would I switch sides to Dem for the presidential election?  I'd consider it with Obama, depending on who his running mate is.  Hillary - nope - couldn't switch for her....and I voted for her husband, but now can't stand the sight of either one of them.  Go figure.

From what I've heard there is probably going to be a fairly liberal Congress for the new administration to deal with, so I may vote Republican just to keep a balance.  I don't like it when either party controls all.  And I'm one of those people who likes to 'clean house' every 8 years - get some new blood in there and see what happens.  That would be a reason for me to switch to Obama.

If Paul or Huckabee were the nominee, I would probably vote Democratic or just write in someone (waste vote).  I am a registered Independant, who voted Clinton the first time, and usually votes Republican.
